Frisk began crying as she woke up on a familiar bed of golden flowers.
"No Chara...please...."
"Frisk?" A new voice interrupted her.
Frisk's eyes went wide as she saw the worried expression of a certain special flower.
"F-flowey?? Or should I call you Asriel??"
Flowey smiled sadly. "So...Chara did it, huh? I saw her heading for the Ruins. We must hurry. She has been killing monsters."
This snapped Frisk into motion. "Is it OK if I...sort of...break your stem a little? I'll put you around my ear so we can continue."
Flowey nodded. "Do what you must."
Frisk cringed. "This will hurt a little. Cat teeth ain't blunt."
She reached down and as gently as she could, plucked Flowey from the earth. She told Flowey to grab onto her left ear with his roots and vines, so that he could be secure. He obeyed and soon Flowey was safely on Frisk's ear.
"Come on, let's go find Toriel," said Frisk determinedly.
Flowey smiled and pretended to do a battle cry. Frisk laughed.
Just like Asriel... She thought, then ran at full speed into the Ruins.
It was eerily quiet as Frisk and Flowey made their way through the Ruins. Piles of dust were scattered everywhere.
Flowey gulped nervously. "This isn't the Chara I knew."
Frisk nodded. "Asriel....tell me how you can still have your compassion."
Flowey smiled a little. "Well, if you RESET, I'll be soulless. If Chara RESETS, I'll still have fragments of my old soul with me. Don't ask me how that works though, I have absolutely no idea."
Frisk nodded again. "I just hope we aren't too late."
As they approached Toriel's house, Frisk began to grow nervous. Would Toriel still be there or would a giant pile of dust and a dress be there to greet her??
She was answered soon enough.
And the sight was horrifying.
