Sans and Frisk were silent as they made their way across Waterfall. The scarf Sans was wearing was pulled up over his muzzle, so you couldn't see it.
His hood was pulled up as well. It was hard to see what he was thinking. He refused any breaks. Wow, what a big change Papyrus's death made on him.
Until finally Frisk stopped him. By....pulling his hood back and grasping it in her jaws. Sans glared at Frisk, then somehow seemed to forget and remember who she was and calmed down.
"Hey...I'm sad too, ok? But let's rest. You seem tired enough. Not to mention you were having insomnia in the previous timeline," said Frisk. Flowey, who was half-tired, nodded in agreement.
Sans sighed. Then he nodded. "I have to do something first. Be right back."
Frisk had never heard him sound so distraught and weak. He teleported out of sight for a few moments then teleported back with a jar of dust inside. Papyrus's dust.
"Are you going to keep that with you?" asked Frisk.
Sans shot a death glare at her. "S-sorry, I was just curious."
He sighed and sat in silence near the echo flowers, looking at the jar of dust and the scarf. "It's the only thing I have left to remember him. Just like the scarf...a-and his spirit....a-an-and....." he broke down again.
Frisk set Flowey down from her ear. He sighed and plugged his roots into the earth. Then Frisk came over and sat down beside Sans.
".....let's rest in that cave. Y'know, the Undyne Area," said Frisk.
Sans shot up. "Wait...we're at the Undyne Area.....and freaking Undyne isn't here. That means....."
Frisk immediately perked up. "Chara.....just....."
Sans growled. The jar of dust was shining in the dim light. "Let's go."
He teleported them to the bridge where Frisk had saved the little monster kid. And then they stopped in their tracks.
Chara was hissing at Undyne. But....this Undyne was different. She had changed. A LOT.
Then she pointed her spear at Chara. "YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO TRY A LITTLE HARDER THAN THAT."
