And once again, my mother decided that it was only a matter of time before I had to join a club. A club?

HAHAHAHAHA.

Don't make me laugh.

I, (y/n), joining a club?

It was like telling a cat to take a walk with a hamster.

It just didn't stick.

I was still strongly disagreeing, and she said,"Look, (y/n), you spend ninety-nine percent of your life watching God-knows-what on your computer, you don't have many friends, and you are probably going to get fat because of your damn phone. So unless you want that guy you liked to like you, I think you should join a sports club."

That guy I liked? It was a crush I had on our school teacher when I was five. FIVE.

I glanced at my dad with a pleading look, but all he did was point and mouth,"She's the dictator."

No way of getting out of this one then.

"Fine Mom. I'll find a club—" she smiled triumphantly "next year, that is."
And her grin melted off her face.

I pranced all the way into my room, happily, then clicked 'next episode' on my computer with a small impish chuckle.

-------------//A Year Later\\------------

"HEY! (y/n)!" It was Yachi. Hitoka Yachi. "EEK! We finally graduated!" She jumped and catapulted me with a hug.

"I KNOW RIGHT! WE're going to HIGH SCHOOL!!" I screamed, as I hugged her back. We were now done with middle school and finally going to become first-years.

The graduation ceremony was so boring and long, but I stayed to remember all the fun and captivating memories I had here. Here in Fukurodani.

It was kind of painful, remembering faces of friends becoming strangers, and moments I felt when the snow had started to sway from the sky to land softly on the ground. Beautiful moments like the rain as it pattered down on the windows when I gazed outside to catch a glimpse of a few unfortunate birds. The red leaves slowly letting go of their ties to sail through a gust of cool breeze, the whispering of the branches as the chirping of cicadas encircled the sports field, the lights of the faraway city seen from the school rooftop at night as owls hooted nearby. I'll miss these. The warm smiles of my few friends as we splashed each other with our drinks, all of this would be missed.

We'll all be parting ways, accept for Yachi and I, we so happened to end up in a high school in a nearby city. It was a mere coincidence.

Urgh. All this reminiscing. I'm dreading my arrival in the new school.

I hope I don't have to socialise more. Socialising meant more work, and more work meant less sleep, and less sleep meant— yeah, I already knew the outcome. Less sleep meant—

"So are we going to walk to our new school?" Yachi squealed, excited. Her short blonde hair was tied in a side ponytail.

"Probably... Wait, does that mean I have to wake up even earlier to get there?" I sighed. I'm already so sleep-deprived.

"You just got to sleep earlier!"

Yachi. You.are.a.nuclear.bomb.of.positivity.

Our relationship was really strange. She was bubbly, cheerful, and nice, while I was just negative and sometimes,*cough*, sassy,*cough*.
Although it only happens when I find myself in an unwanted situation. I usually come off as mean, or rude, or sarcastic by some people, but I like to stick with sassy, because it sounded better than the latter.

We ran down a few winding streets and got to the nearby city, Torono. It was pretty quiet, and we enjoyed going to a small coffee shop with a birch door.

It was really vintage, their were only pale colors, the coffee tables were covered by white lace napkins, and the seats matched the door. Everything about the shop was beautifully arranged, from the roses running along the window sills, the counter neatly placed with many assorted cakes, to the sweet shelf arranged with cookies and candy.

We entered to the smell of aromatic coffee wafting in the air.

"Ahh! I've missed the smell of this!" I said, making myself a seat near the window. I invited Yachi to sit next to me.

"Look at this, we've missed the hot chocolate with marshmallows special! All because of the horrible studying we had to do!" I pointed at the menu given to us by a waiter.

"You can have it next year." Yachi stated. She's like a mom.

"But I really wanted to taste it, it looks marvellous, like that strawberry cake special we had before the exams!"

"True, that cake was de-li-cious."

I ordered a raspberry velvet cupcake to celebrate our graduation.

"In the name of Yato, we shall offer a bit of this cake to help ease his passage to a mighty god." I prayed with one eye opened, checking what Yachi was doing.

She was giggling like crazy. She joined in and stuttered,"L-let's pray for all the five yens in the world to rain down on him." She clapped her hands twice. It was just too much. We cracked up for about half an hour. Letting all our stress out was relieving. It was great to be able to laugh freely again.

Afterwards, we talked about all the gossip going on, our new uniform, the new album of UxMishi...

Then it happened. As we were talking about the new anime coming out, we saw something dash across the street.

An orange-haired boy.

It was only a glimpse, but I swore I read '鳥野'.

Karasuno.

The high school I was going to attend.
