Red

Two: What are you?! My Mom?!

"Mama, I'm leaving. I promised Jonathon and Gina that I'd meet them at the diner!" Red said, hurrying downstairs with her cellphone in her hand.

"Okay! you know the rules! be back home before midnight!" Her mom yelled from the living room.

"Kaykay! Byee!" She hurried outside and stood on her porch debating whether she should drive or just walk since the diner was only 10 minutes away walking. She decided to walk, the weather was nice and she felt nice.

"Maybe it's the way she walked, straight into my heart and stole it" She sang quietly "..and we danced all night, to the best song ever"

She grinned and started twirling, their was nobody around and she was feeling very bubbly for some reason.

When she reached the diner, she was out of breath because she skipped and sang loudly and even danced a little but made sure no one was watching her. When she noticed someone standing by the diner next to a black car with his arms crossed staring at her with a bored look.

I haven't seen him around before. Red thought to herself and grinned at him. He raised an eyebrow and scoffed before looking away but Red didn't even get offended by his move. Instead, she walked up to him and introduced herself "Hi! I'm Red!"

He looked at her with another bored look and rolled his eyes, staying silent.

"And you are?" She asked, swaying on the soles of her feet. Her head was tilted to the right and she was grinning at the stranger.

"what a weirdo" He ignored her and pulled out his phone from his pocket and started looking through it expecting her to go away but Red didn't give up.

She frowned and snatched the phone from his hands "You're being rude, be nice."

"What?! what are you!? my mom?! give me back my phone" He was completely taken aback by her actions. She shook her grinning "See, I got you to answer. Now, what's your name?"

He clenched his fists and took in a deep breath "Damon"

Damon, hmm... where have I heard this name before?

"Okay, Damon" She sang his name "You're new here, right?"

"Listen, girlie. I'm not here to make new friends. Give me my phone before I hurt you" He looked at her menacingly but she didn't even seem phased by it.

"No" She giggled "I won't until you answer my question"

"What are you?! 5 years old? Don't you have anything else to do?" He yelled, glaring at her.

Red paused for a little "Actually, I am supposed to meet my friends in the diner but their cars aren't here so they're not here yet"

"I don't care" he groaned "Just give. me. my. phone!"

"Why?" She stared at him innocently.

He face palmed himself and moved towards her in an instant, he grabbed her arms and squeezed them tightly "I said. give me my phone" the words slipped out of his mouth were supposed to sound terrifying but to Red they were just words "You're kind of hurting me" She pointed out randomly and he tightened his grip making her wince "Ouch, stop it"

"Not until you give me back my fu-"

"HEY!" somebody yelled making Damon pull himself away from Red. Red, turned with a grin to the person who interrupted them "Hayo!"

It was Jonathon.

"Red! did he hurt you?" Jonathon immediately ran to her side and placed an arm around her protectivley checking for injuries "Nu-uh! We were just chatting, right Damon" She winked at Damon and Jonathon tensed. He gritted his teeth "Damon Cooper"

Damon smiled sarcastically "That's the one! now tell your little red head friend to give me my phone back!"

"Red, why did you-" Jonathon was about to ask why did she take his phone but rememberd he was talking to Red, probably the stupidest human being on the planet "Nevermind, just give him his phone back"

Red sighed and pulled out the phone and handed it to Damon. He snatched it from her and turned to Jonathon "Now scurry off" Damon said with a bored tone even though he was still glaring at Red who was smiling at him.

"It was nice meeting you, Damon!" Red giggled and Jonathon dragged her away from the criminal. Once they were inside the diner, he turned to Red who was smiling innocently up at him "Didn't we tell you not to talk to him!?" Jonathon hissed and Red frowned "To who?"

"Damon Cooper!" Jonathon yelled and Red flinched when her eyes widened and tears bubbled in her eyes "OH MY GOD! I-I-I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS DAMON COOPER! I SWEAR J, I SWEAR! oh my god, my parents are going to be so mad!" She sniffed. Red hated breaking promises. She just felt really guilty and now she broke two, the promise she made to her friends and to her family.

Jonathon sighed "Red, listen, I'm sorry I yelled... come here" He hugged her tightly "How about we just keep it a secret and no one would know what happened, alright?"

Red pulled away from him and nodded, wiping her runny nose "Okay" she giggled and Jonathon smiled "You're too cute"

Red giggled again when they saw Gina coming their way. Jonathon groaned internally. He definitely wanted alone time with Red but no, Gina had to come and ruin his so called date.

He was completely and utterly in love.
