"Mom, we just passed by the building!"
"Yes, Hiccup. We're not going there today."
Silence.
"Well, where are we going?"
Valka tapped on the steering wheel as she stopped at a red light.
"Mr. Arendelle has invited us into his house."
This took Hiccup by a shock. Mr. Arendelle? Why would he invite him to his house? After all, he was only his therapist. Mr. Arendelle knew a lot about Hiccup's disorder and knew how to teach him correctly. Mr. Arendelle was a kind man, and Hiccup often thought of him as a higher position than he, like a king. So his thought process of being invited from a kingly man was quite embarrassing, considering that Hiccup was a mess.
"You didn't tell me to get better clothes mom! I thought it was a regular appointment!" Hiccup said grumpily. Valka simply drove on as the light turned green.
"Hiccup, please don't have that kind of attitude in Mr. Arendelle's house. He is kind to you every time you go into his office, so please be kind to him at his own house." Valka said. Hiccup sighed, but nodded his head. "Yes mom."
No words were exchanged after that. The car ride was a bit longer than Hiccup expected, but as they drove onto the richer, more luxurious parts of town, Hiccup began to wonder what he would do. Obviously he would use proper etiquette, use all his manners, and keep a calm face, as normal as a twelve year old possibly could look.
Was Mr. Arendelle there to give him a test, since he had such a big house? Would Mr. Arendelle make Hiccup calculate the interior and exterior of the house? Of course he wouldn't do that. Hiccup knew that the meanest Mr. Arendelle was had only been when he first met him. Hiccup refused to do anything and threw a tantrum when he was pushed to talk by Mr. Arendelle.
The thoughts still heavy on his mind, Hiccup looked up from his fidgeting fingers to out the window. They had arrived upon a very nice looking house, and there had also been a gate surrounding it. A guard stood next to the gate, unmoving.
Valka drove near the gate and the soldier marched over to her when she was close enough.
"Are you Mrs. Valka Haddock?" The guard asked. Valka nodded, and gulped before responding, "Yes, yes I am sir. Nice to meet you."
The guard nodded. "And is Mr. Hiccup Haddock with you?"
Valka nodded again. "In the backseat."
"Mm. Okay." The guard declared, then stepped back to his spot. He lifted his arm and spoke a few words, and soon, the gates opened and Valka drove in.
Hiccup stretched closer to the window to observe the view. There was a big space on either side of the car, one side with a fountain and the other with a garden. The garden side had rows and rows of beautiful flowers, and a tree stood on the far side of the garden. The fountain side had its fountain with many decorations surrounding it. Hiccup awed in amazement. How beautiful!
As Valka pulled in the circular space of the front of the house, Hiccup was eager to get out. He unbuckled his seatbelt when the car turned off, and he waited for Valka to step out of the car before he did so himself.
Hiccup observed the garden side of the front expanse carefully, spotting many different types of flowers and naming each one in his head. Tulips, roses, sunflowers... there were so many.
"Come on, Hiccup," Valka called, and Hiccup snapped out of his daze to follow his mother into the front steps of the mansion. Together they ascended the steps, and as they came to a stop at the front door, two guards from either side of the doorway opened the door to reveal only a portion of the beauty inside.
