//a picture of Maya is added at the top. Jacks picture will be in the next chapter//
"Oh boy are we blessed in this house!" my mom called across the hall to my dad. They were upstairs when I walked through the door coming home from school. I tossed my bag to the couch and plopped on it. I thought about getting food and pigging out for the night but, we still don't have any. Most likely going to have to eat takeout pizza tonight.
I clicked on the TV when Maya sat down beside me. "Taylor, everyone at school is talking about us."
"Yeah Maya it's probably because we're the new kids. Nick told me there's never new kids here in Mace." I smiled with an eye roll at her.
"There's a lot of girls talking about how cute Jack is!!" she cringed and I laughed with her. "Ew but Jack is so gross!"
Maya laughed and agreed. Jack came running into the living room and laid on Maya and I.
I decided to poke him in the eye and he smacked me.
"What the heck was that for Taylor!" He got off me and picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder.
"Sorry!!" I hung there, basically every time Jack does this I just get to hang here until he decides to put me down. He can't do this with Ryan or he will bite him, and Maya will punch him in the face so I'm the only one he can really pick on.
He walks up the steps to see mom and dad, and honestly him climbing the stairs was extremely scary because I thought he'd drop me on my head.
I looked up a bit and saw Maya walking behind him. "Help me." I whispered and she grinned.
So Maya and I have this super good relationship where we never hate each other but when she disapproves of something I do, she will let me know. Maya always has my back with Jack when he picks on me. Maya has always been my best friend.
Jack on the other hand, most of the time hates my guts. We get along on occasion, but it's kinda hard to deal with him. Jack can be a major prick and he likes to make me feel like crap. But the other 6% of the time Jack is my best friend.
And there's little Ryan. So he's never included in any of our conversations. Or video games, or anything like that. Not really because we don't want him to be, more like he hates all three of us and doesn't ever want to be around us.
Mom and Dad, none of us really have a strong relationship with either of them. I think Ryan has more of a relationship with them than any of us do. Mom and Dad keep to themselves and they only really talk to us around report card time, when they find us doing something they don't like to hear, or they think it's a good time to ground us.
Maya swung around Jack and pinched his arm just above his elbow. He yelled and dropped me but I caught myself on my forearms and knees.
I recovered just in time to see Jack pout and stomp off to his room. I high fived Maya and we laughed.
"Wanna go hang out in your room?" she asked.
"Sure! If you'll help with my homework." she nodded and we went off into my bedroom.-•-
"So there's this guy named Aj and he's so totally my type like we'd be great together" Maya went on about all the cute boys in her home room and 5th period.
Why I wasn't talking about 'cute boys' is because I don't care about boys. They mean nothing and they're just another person. I hate how girls go on and on about boys and how they're so perfect. All of them are the same and want and do the same thing.
"Tay, don't you like any boys?" Maya looked at me, but she knows I don't and why I don't.
"Come on, there's gotta be someone?" I grimaced and shook my head, "Never again May."
With that our conversation ended when Mom called bed time.
Everyone yelled 'I love you' to everyone else and we called it a night. Happy that I'll get to go back to school tomorrow.
