Like an unfed pet
Like a victim of terrorism
Like the moment of silence
Like the eye of the storm
Like walking into that haunted house
Like waking home alone
Like sitting in the dark
Like the ticking time bomb
Like being stuck under
Drowning...
Slowing....
Only a short while
Before my system dies
Before I power down
