Silence, cold dark and silent.
That's what the void is like.
Then it all comes rushing back at you like a train.
A giant flash of white light burst from where the man once kneeled, the banshee screamed out and covering her eyes.
Stumbling away she retreated back into the dark building leaving only the glowing of her aura behind her
Suddenly the light disappeared, the man still hunched over there on his knees, deep racking breaths shook his body as he fumbled for his weapon, as soon as he grasped the handle the runes burst back to light, casting an aura around the blade.
Shakily getting to his feet he looked up at the building where the banshee had retreated to.
Grabbing his shredded and crisped top hat he threw it off and long silvery hair fell down over his face and shoulders.
Cracking his neck he exhaled deeply then opened his eyes. His iris's had disappeared only leaving glowing white eyes.
He slowly started walking towards the building, blood dripping on the cobble stone from the wounds on his back and legs.
He grunted to himself " never taking a job like this again, knew it wouldn't go good" as he walked into the doorway the darkness seemed to swallow him up, only light that emitted was the light from his scythe and the glow from his eyes.
The hallway went down a long chamber leading into an open ballroom.
The place had a eerie beauty to it, the once furnished furniture and curtains had been torn and shredded, the floor had cracks and boards missing.
A cackle from the far end of the room alerted his attention. Sitting in the shadow of the stage in a throne made of dismembered corpses sat the banshee grinning manically. She spread her arms wide and gestured to the ballroom
"I see you like my home, lovely isn't it, although it's going to be less of a sight after I'm done with you"
pointing to him she giggling excitedly
"there will be a little bit of you there, little bit over there, and a little bit way up there on the ceiling"
grinning demonically she stood from her throne then disappeared.
Getting into a battle stance he swung his scythe around him in an arc.
Laughter ran through the room as the temperature suddenly dropped, closing his eyes he stood still aside from the arcs of his scythe.Suddenly she appeared behind him, claws stretched out for him,
his eyes snapped open blazing an ungodly white. Whipping around he delivered a kick into her stomach with inhuman speed and strength.
Bones cracking under the force of his kick, she screamed out in pain, with viper like reflexes he shot his hand out around her throat holding her there in a iron grip.
Black blood dribbled from her mouth as she held her stomach with both hands, she stared into his eye in horror.
They blazed white as he smiled "time to die" she screeched and clawed at the arm that held her digging deep into his arm, blood dripping from her claws. The smile turned into a snarl as he smashed her into the ground knocking the breath out of her,
the boards around cracked inwards under the force as he then drove the blade through her chest deep into the ground.
The wound suddenly burst into white flames like her blood was gasoline, she screamed flailing her arms and leg around try to unpin herself from the blade, the man stood there staring down at her, eyes glowing.
As she grabbed at the blade trying to pull it out he snarled "they asked for your head, that was it" stepping back his muscles tense as he sprang forward and delivered a kick to her head.
Black blood sprayed everywhere as skin and tendons around her neck ripped in half, her head shooting into the far wall with a splat spraying black blood all over the wall. Her body kept flailing for a moment more then went slack as the white flames consumed her.
He stood there as the body was reduced to nothing but ash, grabbing the handle he ripped the scythe out burned carcass and walked over to where the head lay.
Blood pooled out from her mouth, eyes and neck slowly collection around the head. Looking down in disgust he grabbed the bloody head and stuffed it into a kevlar sack and pull the strings tight. Slinging it over his shoulder he walked out of the ball room back towards the main part of town.
