"You think you're real cool huh? " Regina said while pushing me back. "No no no I don't, I really didn't mean to trip you!" I exclaimed, feeling tears well up in my tiny beady eyes. I just wanted to teach her a lesson for being so mean to the other kids. "Well, too bad, you don't just mess with me and get away with it" she growled.
I could start to feel little beads of tears start to drip down my rosie pink cheeks. I wanted to run home to mummy, I was so scared. I could see her inching closer and closer, ready to make me go home today bruised all over. We were at the back of our local neighbourhood's park, behind a hedge, no one was there to see us.
I shut tight my little eyes, with my heart palpitating in my chest waiting for her blow but all I heard was her loud shriek. My tiny fist clenched into a ball, afraid for what was about to come. After a while, I heard another boy's voice whispering "It's okay, you can open your eyes now." My heart slowed It's pace while I slowly fluttered open my eyelids one by one. I could see Regina running away, my eyes than shifted to a boy standing in front of me. My fist slowly unclenched. He was from my elementary school but I've never really talked to him before.
"Are you alright?" He asked, concern overlooking him. "Yeah, I'm... I'm fine" I replied in my soft squeaky voice. He helped me off the ground and I thanked him for saving my life. I looked up at him and I smiled, "My name's Kayla" I introduced. He smiled back heartwarmingly before replying, "I'm Brandon".
