Hello! First of all, this is my own, ORIGINAL story. This story by the way is published on my former school's (Siena College, Q.C.) official literary folio! This story will teach you the true meaning and importance of FRIENDSHIP. So, here you go. Have fun reading! <3 :)

I thought nobody cared for me--- except her.

By the way, I am Taylor Quilt, a school nerd. The bullies always make fun of me.

I clearly remember that night--- that tragic night, when my best friend, Jessica Whyte died due to a car accident.

I can still remember when we first met. It was the first day of school in 6th grade. As usual, the bullies were making fun of me; particularly for my big eyeglasses. They even made me a song for it.

"Four eyes, four eyes! You need glasses to see!"

I was used to it. All I cared about was my studies. One day, we were all seated in our classroom when Mrs. Kate, our adviser, entered. She introduced a new girl into our class. Her name is Jessica Whyte. She was very pretty; she had long, fine, blond hair and sparkling blue eyes. Her milk-white complexion made me notice her even more. After Mrs. Kate introduced her to us, she took her seat right beside me. I introduced myself first.

"Hello! My name is Taylor Quilt."

"Oh, hi Taylor! My name is Jessica Whyte. Nice to meet you."

I smiled and said, "Nice to meet you too. Can we be friends? I don't have any friends here in our class."

"Oh, that's okay. You've been quite good to me, so I can say you're a nice person. No problem!"

Since then, we were always together during recess and lunch breaks. We were so happy together. She didn't even care that I was a nerd. She told me that, "Your heart is bigger than you think."

I was very grateful because I never thought I would have a friend. Though we had our own share of quarrels do to certain misunderstandings, we always forgave each other. On the day of our graduation, I gave her a necklace with the words "BEST FRIEND" engraved on it. She gave me a cute lion stuffed toy in return.

I never saw her again. She hasn't even replied to my messages in Facebook.

Soon, I gave up contacting her. That was when I heard the news that a girl named Jessica Whyte was delivered to the hospital because of a car accident. The police said that the suspect was rushing and he lost control of his car, which ended up hitting my beloved best friend. I rushed to the hospital; crying and crying while hoping to God for Him to save her. Then, the doctor came.

"I am very sorry. We did everything we could."

I felt so hopeless. I felt that I had lost the only person who ever cared for me. Being an orphan made me so lonely for most of my life. Now that Jessica is gone, my life became meaningless and I don't know what to do.

On the day of her burial, her mom came up to me and said, "You've been very good to my only daughter. I thank you so much, Taylor, for being such a wonderful best friend."

She gave me a letter. It was from Jessica. As I read it, tears began to stream down my cheeks.

Dearest Taylor,

I thank you for being a very kind and warm-hearted best friend to me. I am very sorry if I didn't say goodbye to you after our graduation. My mom said that you told her you've been sending hundreds of messages to me on Facebook. To be honest, my Facebook account was hacked by someone. Anyway, my mom and I will move to California to visit my sick grandfather. Well, until next time. Don't worry, I assure you we will meet again as soon as I return from England.

Lovingly Yours,

Jessica Whyte

I felt very sad for her death, yet I was also very pleased because I now knew she still thought of me. Thanks to her, I will no longer cry. I will keep her memories in my heart. I will no longer feel hopeless. I know that THROUGH FAITH in God, nothing is impossible. I will never forget what Jessica told me of not letting go of my goals. Her spirit will live in me always.

**********************************************THE END************************************************

How sad isn't it? Well sometimes, frienship situations have sad endings. But, love still prevails in the end. Well, that's all. Thank you so much for reading! Don't forget to like and leave comments. <3 XoXo
