Chapter 6: Brightest Star

After a week...

Kath's POV

It's been a week since the tragedy happened. Nakalabas na ng hospital ang lahat ng sugutan, including DJ, pero continuous pa din ang check-up at pag momonitor sa condition sa kanila lalong lalo na sa mga bata.

My friends are doing great, I gave them plane tickets to Los Angeles para makapag-relax and unwind naman sila. Para na din makalimutan nila yung nangyari sa amin, I wanna join them because I want to escape from all the stress this catastrophe has caused me, but I can't, dad will get mad at me and I just can't leave the company in the midst of problems.

Knock. Knock.

"come in"

"Ms. Kath" It was Tanya.

"Yes?"

"Your dad needs you"

I sighed, "okay, I'm coming"

After what happened, parang araw-araw na kaming may meeting. Thinking of ways how to market the cruise lines industry, how to assure them that it is still safe to travel via water, and lastly, where are the missing persons?

Tatlong tao na lang ang hinahanap namin, natagpuan na yung iba. The rescue team found them at the islands nearby and floating around the ocean. Buhay at patay.

I took a deep breath before knocking at my dad's office.

"come in"

Oh, Lord, please help me.

I opened the door, "dad... pinatawag nyo daw po ako"

"have a seat, Kath"

I sat down in front of him, waiting for him to speak up.

"Ilan na lang ang taong nawawala?"

"Tatlo po"

"Isa na lang"

"Really?!"

"They found two this morning"

"Really? Well, that's great." I smiled, "can I fly now to Cali to join my friends? I really need a vacay, dad"

"Okay..."

Really?! "Okay???!!!"

"Okay... if..."

Uhhhh... if...

"If you find the last missing person" he continued.

What?! Me?! Are you serious?!

"Dad? We have a good search and rescue team"

"Yes, we do, and you will be part of them. Naisip ko kasi Kath, well-trained ka na sa lahat ng position ditto sa company, maliban sa isa... you haven't experienced searching for a missing body"
