Chapter 1
Once upon a time, I was walking through the cornfield after work. I was late for dinner so I thought ‘If I cut through the cornfield, I can get home quicker’. Turns out I seriously regret that decision.
Like I said, I was walking though the cornfield after work. Nothing seemed wrong or out of place until I heard a chuckle. I heard someone laughing but trying to keep quiet at the same time. I stopped walking so that I could try and see where the person was but it was so dark that I couldn’t see anything. Of course, I did the stupid thing and called out. “Is anybody there?” I shouted. Nothing. Complete silence. “Because the psycho killer in the shadows will actually reply” I whispered under my breath. I was probably just tired from work so I started walking again. I was starting to get really hungry so I walked a little faster and as I sped up a bit, I heard something under my feet. I looked down but I couldn’t see so I leaned down and touched around my feet. It was so disgusting. It was wet and squishy but I didn’t know what it was so I pulled out my cell phone for some light. I couldn’t believe it. I was touching intestines, human intestines. Someone had cut open her stomach. Her face was hideous, I couldn’t tell who it was, or even if they were black or white. I didn’t know what to do. Should I run? But unfortunately, I didn’t get to choose.
Two hands touched my shoulder and I froze. I couldn’t move or breathe. I felt his breathe on my ear as he began to whisper in a surprisingly creepy voice, “Welcome to the nightmare”. I screamed and jumped forward, over the corpse and turning around to face the killer. His face was beyond words. His hair was black and his skin was pale but not white. I wouldn’t call him tall be he wasn’t short either. He looked to be the same age as me, 16 or maybe 17. But the thing which froze me was his smile and eyes. His smile was inhumanly wide and his eyes were red. He was laughing while he looked between me and the corpse. I didn’t know what to do. I wouldn’t be able to run all the way to the street but I could make it to the woods. I could hide in the trees until he left. I looked between him and the woods and I knew that he wasn’t going to let me go. I braced myself, breathed in and shot off the ground and into a sprint.
This is where my athletics training comes in handy. I couldn’t see if he was chasing me because I had to close my phone so he couldn’t see where I was. I ran and ran and ran until I saw the woods. I sprinted into the trees, avoiding branches and bushes. Trying to find a place to rest, I started to slow down. Sitting between a bush and a tree, I started to look around to see if he followed me. Everything was silent until I heard it. “Are you done yet?” The cold chilling voice stabbed my ear like an axe. I stood up just when the knife plunged into my arm. I wanted to scream but no noise came out. I looked at him and he smiled at me. I fell down and everything blurred. ‘Not good, don’t faint’ I thought, but it was too late.
Chapter 2
“Where am I?” I awoke in a cold room. I was chained to a pole and my legs were tied together. A bandage was wrapped one my arm where I was stabbed. I looked around to see if anyone was here but the room was small, it wasn’t possible to not see someone if they were here. I looked back at the bandage. Blood was flowing onto my sleeve and dripping onto the stone floor. While I worried about the amount of blood I was losing, the door burst open and I jumped; swiftly moving my eyes towards the door. He walked in but this time I could see him properly because of the light. He was wearing black skinny jeans and a white hoodie covered in fresh blood. Walking towards me, he stopped in front of me and kneeled down. “Are you comfortable?” He asked sarcastically. I looked at him and grinned coldly. He started to chuckle but quickly stopped himself. “Do you know who I am?” he glared into my eyes with intensity. I nodded. I had heard of a serial killer terrorising our town and eating parts of his victims. He smiled and stood up, walking to a small desk in the corner of the room. It went silent.
