i am so sorry guys for the wait! i got my personal issues all taken care of, and in the fall I'm going to be starting college! anyway here is the update that i have been promising you so Enjoy!
When I get to the doors I open them and step out into the sunshine, I close the door and breath in the fresh clean air, I close my eyes and lift my face towards the sun, I say a quick prayer to the great mother then I tilt my head down and open my eyes, as I do I see something out of the corner of my eye, I turn my head to see wolf pups playing just in front of the forest, I smile and notice that they haven't heard me come outside, I lift my Camera and start taking photos of them, smiling as I capture them at play, soon enough though they get tired and they curl up next to each other and close their eyes, I snap one more photo of them before I turn and walk towards the forest, as I was almost to the tree line I felt a hand grab my arm and jerk me backwards, I take my free elbow and smash it into the persons face then grab there arm and flip them over, then put my foot on their neck, when I calm down enough to take in my surroundings I look at the guy, it's the same guy that cleaned up after I got sick, the second in command after Gabriel, I quickly take my foot off of the guys neck, "don't ever do that again" I go to turn, but he stands up and steps in my way stopping me in my tracks, I look up at him with a really facial expression, he grinned and held out his hand, "I'm Luke, the second in this pack and your guard until the third comes back." I shook it "I'm Skyler, now can you please move so I can get this assignment done for my photography class?" he stepped out of my way and I started walking towards the woods again, he fell into step beside me, we walked a few yards into the woods with him whistling a tune, before he turned his head and looked at me,
"What is your assignment?"
"something/someone I love and admire" I told him looking around the woods before I stopped, I turned to him "Can you shift so I can take a few photos of a wolf? I'll tell you what to do and all you have to do is stand there and look pretty." I told him, he looked unsure "shouldn't Gabe be the one to do this? I mean he is your mate." He asked, "he's busy at the moment, and since your my guard you can use your heightened senses to watch out while I take the photos." I told him getting my camera ready, when I finally looked up I locked eyes with him and he finally sighed
"if I get killed for this I'm coming back and haunting your ass until you die, then I'm going to kick it for all eternity." He said finally going behind a tree to undress, I snorted but said nothing, I heard the crack of bones indicating that he is shifting, a few minutes later a grey wolf came trotting out from behind the tree and shook out his fur, then looked at me, "ok I need you to go over there between those two trees and look like something has your attention" I told him, he huffed and did as he was told, I raised my camera and took a few photos in rapid succession, "ok now I need you to jog past me" I moved out of the way with my camera still up and the shudder going off every few seconds, "now stop and look behind you at me," he did as he was told.
It went like that for almost two hours, when he finally got tired of it, and went behind the tree to shift and get dressed, "Ya know I want to see those" he told me, I was looking through the photos to see which ones to edit and use, "as soon as I'm done editing them you can even have a few if you want, and thank you for being my model for today now I just need one more and this assignment will be done." I told him with a sad smile, he looked at me confused, "what's wrong?"
"I was going to take photos of my family for the second part of this assignment, but I had to leave them in South Dakoda" then it hit me, I don't know where I am except that I was in Gabriel's territory, I looked at Luke "actually where am I?" I asked him, he looked at me then said "Michigan, the upper peninsula to be exact." My eyes widened, I slept for two days straight, I thought back to the trip, the few times I was awake was when I needed to use the restroom then as soon as we started down the road again I fell back asleep.
"thank you for telling me," I turned around and started walking back to the pack house, when the house came into view, I seen Gabriel standing at the edge of the forest with a furious expression on his face, my first thought was "oh hell, here we go" he walked over to me and looked me over for injuries, then he went over to Luke and grabbed him by his throat "I asked you to check in every half hour when your with my mate, and yet I heard no word from you for almost two hours!" I stepped in between them pushing Gabriel away from Luke, "there is no need for you to choke him, it was my fault he didn't check in, I asked him to help me with an assignment for college which he did, he must have forgot to check in with you, so BACK OFF" I raised my voice a little bit at the end, I locked eyes with Gabriel, it seemed like forever but neither of us backed down, until Luke's voice broke through our stare down, "Gabriel, I just got word from the border of our territory, he's just crossed our border" he said with worry in his voice, Gabriel snapped his eyes away from mine, to Luke's "He's never supposed to come back here I exiled him for a reason"
"Apparently he didn't get the message" was Luke's sarcastic reply, he nodded then said "put the pack on lockdown, everyone in the pack house now before he gets here" as he picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder thank the gods my camera was in my hand and practically ran into the house and up to my room with me fighting and clawing at him to put me down, when we finally got to my bedroom door he opened it and tossed me down onto my bed then went out the door and shut it without saying a word, I quickly went to the door but I heard him ordering wolves to guard my door until Blake leaves,
"who the hell is Blake? And why do I have to have guards outside my door...and windows?" I think as I catch movement out of the corner of my eye. I open my door and one of the guards looks at me and bows his head, "miss, it's safer for you to go back inside and close the door,"
"Not until you tell me what's going on, why arethere guards outside of my door and windows? And who is this Blake person?" Iask him with authority in my voice, he shakes his head, "I can't tell you miss,it's not my place..." he trails off, as I smell a scent that if I was in wolfform the hair on the back of my neck would be standing and id be snarling, I smellGabriel then I feel sparks shoot up my back, when I turn my head I see my matestanding there and he pushed me behind him and growled at the newcomer that hadentered the hallway via window, "My My dear brother, you found your mate andyou didn't think to tell me?" I heard a voice say when I looked around GabrielI couldn't believe what was before my eyes.
