5 years later...
"I'M BACK!!!!" Ashley half sung, half yelled as her and Dean entered the Bunker. I chuckled to myself as I sat at the table with my knees bunched under me, my cup of coffee in my hands and a lore book on the table. Sam across from me was on his laptop, a beer in hand and his IPad beside him on the table.
She immediately came running down the stairs and stopped beside Sam's side of the table looking up to him with big puppy eyes, without as much as looking down to her, he lifted his IPad from the table and handed it to her. Immediately she unlocked it and was faced with the lock screen.
"You remember how to spell Phoenix?" Sam asked. Her eyes lit up and she spelt it out as she entered the letters.
"F-O-E-N-I-X" she furrowed her eyebrows, trying to think where she went wrong.
"Not quite, the first letter is wrong... remember the special letters that sound like that one letter?" Sam's focus was completely on her as he watched her trying to remember. She took a moment before attempting again.
"P... H... O-E-N-I-X...?" she hesitated before pressing enter. Her face lighting up with her achievement as Sam smiled down to her. "I did it!"
"Well done sweetheart. You're spelling is getting better. "I congratulated her on her little achievement.
"I don't know why you teach her how to spell such things. You may as well teach her how to summon a demon, if you're getting her to spell monsters names." Lucifer appeared on the chair beside me, with a slight scowl on his face. Ashley made her way around the table towards him, not taking her eyes of the IPad, he was quick to pick her up and place her on his knee, taking interest on what she was doing on the IPad.
"Calm down there Satan. It's not like we're teaching her Latin or how to shoot the Colt... yet. It's just help with her spelling." Dean chimed from the entrance.
Lucifer gave a hum for a response, clearly not interested in what the Winchester had to say, instead his focus was on the girl in his lap. Helping her win on one of her strategical games that she was playing with.
I sat watching the two of them, engrossed in their little game. Only then did it occur to me of how much Lucifer cared for little Ash. Whenever something related to the supernatural or monsters, even nightmares, if Ash was involved, he would be the first to have a say.
It's amazing how the big bad devil cares, for the smallest of worthless apes that are nothing but the gum under his shoe. He truly lets his angel out around Ashley. He even reads her bed time stories, he will actually tell her a story whenever she asks for one. She likes the story Lucifer tells about how he would read to Sam, she thinks it's funny, picturing Lucifer telling the story of the three pigs and the wolf, thinks he's only being silly... wait till the day she founds out the whole story behind that.
"Y/N!!" A small innocent voice that was clearly filled with excitement, was gradually getting louder and closer to where I was. I buried my head further under my covers, trying to hide away as soon as my door was slammed open. Suddenly a small, but quite heavy weight was thrown on top of me, and the bed started to jump and shake quite violently. "GET UP! GET UP!" it shouted.
Next thing, was my covers were violently pulled away from me. Groaning I looked to the source to find little Ashley sitting on my hips, with a massive grin showing her teeth. I furrowed my eyebrows, "What?!" I asked.
"Get up! It's my birthday!! And Gabe's making pancakes, c'mon hurry up Y/N!" she started jumping again, gaining more excitement. I let out a laugh at her excitement.
"Alright, alright. Calm down, I'm coming." She grabbed my hand, dragging me down the hall, I couldn't hide the smile that was on my face.
As we were pulled up to the kitchen, I noticed Gabriel setting the Eiffel tower of Pancakes onto the table, Sam with a mug of coffee in front of him, his fringe hanging over his eyes. Dean had his head on the table, probably sleeping but was soon awoken as Ashley screamed at him.
