OK, so i know it sounds like a really stupid thing to do, you know, go and find the son of your worst enemy, who also has appeared in your dreams twice already, but that's what i am doing. I am trying to contact J.

You see, after Haze and Ky left i sat for a minute or two, deliberating what to do and weighing my options. In the end i thought the best thing to do is what i am doing right now, or trying to do at least. I know that J must be tracking his father's movements, but from further away, in the security of the public and the cities. So right now i am wondering the streets of Trezza city in search of him.

"Who are you looking for then? Would that be me by any chance?" I turn around to see J leaning against a wall across the empty street.

"Did you just speak to me in my head?" I ask.

"Yup." He relies, out loud this time. He stands up straight, and crosses the street. "What then? I thought you didn't want to hear anything i have to say."

"I didn't." I say truthfully. "But then i found a few more pieces of the puzzle and the picture started to make sense now."

J grins, his dark eyes glittering and emphasising the hint of green in them. "Ok, so... What do you know?"

I recite the list (leaving number twelve out) and watch as his face goes from amused to confused.

"You know who my father is?" I nod. "And you still want my help?" I roll my eyes at his slowness.

"Yes. As far as i can tell, your dad hates you almost as much as me."

Nodding, J begins to walk around the corner. I follow him down a couple of streets and into an abandoned building (very rare on Vivid) with boarded up windows and a door barely hanging onto its frame by old and rusty hinges. We continue up the creaky stairs and along a corridor. At the end of the hall is a large door made from dark wood. The room beyond is medium sized and the furniture is all bare unless you count the thin layer of dust settled over everything like snow. To the left of the door is a desk and wooden chair which looks very uncomfortable. Spread across the desk is a map, much like the one I saw in The Hunters' camp not too long ago. This map, however, is smaller and the lines drawn across it are in blue rather than blood red and is the only thing in the room hat isn't covered in a fine film of dust. J goes and picks his map up, shaking it out a little before spreading it out on the floor, beckoning me over. Confused, I go and sit next to him on the bare floorboards, shiny with use.

"What is this?" I ask, pointing to where the line ends, the same place as The Hunters' map line ended.

"My father always refered to it as The great revene. Basically, I think its the place that your parents died and he goes there every year to gloat I guess."

"Well then. It seems only fitting that I destroy him there too. You aren't going to stop me from killing our dad, are you?" I ask, suddenly aware that Ky is J's father, again.

J laughs, folding the map back up. "God no. I thought you knew. I'm here to help you kill my father, well, he's my step father actually, but still. He is a lying, thieving, killing barstard that needs to be stopped."

Its only when J offers me a hand that I remember the question I came here to ask. Letting J pull me up, I prepare myself for the possibility that he doesn't know a thing. I dust my clothes down as J puts the map in his bag.

"Ok, so I heard your dad talking about the real reason hat he killed all those people, my parents. They knew something that he didn't want them to know, and now he's worried that I know it too, the only problem is, I don't know. And now..." I tail off.

"And now you're curious." J finishes for me. "Well, I don't know the whole story, that's why I didn't tell you in the first place, but..."

"Go on." I urge.

"Basically. All I know is that on Earth he was like a mass murderer. You're dad found out, being a detective and all, he then told your mum. When the police force searched his house they found nothing, assuming that it was just a misdirection, they turned away and ruled him out as a suspect. Your parents later went back and accidently watched him killing someone, allow a witness statement to be used in court. For some reason, they never took it to court, maybe to black mail him, I don't know. But anyway, when they arrived on Vivid, his fear took over so he blew he ship up, to avoid prison I guess. I think that is why he makes sure every body is burnt and every attack looks like a malfunction or something."

We walk back towards the edge of the city before I realise that J is still walking silently next to me.

"You know, Haze will try and kill you if he sees us together. he practically promised your dad that I don't even know your name."

J just shrugs, not seeming to care how violent Haze is. "He wont attack me or anything. He will act like he doesn't know who am, if you can act, that is, you can act, right?" I nod, feeling very confused now. "So, here's what happened. You were shopping in the city when you met me. Remembering me from that shooing incident, you suggested I travel with you both. ok?"

I know it sounds like a stupid plan, I mean, Haze would at least be suspicious that I met the son of my greatest enemy in the same city that Haze had met said enemy mere minutes ago. But if he suspicious, he doesn't show it, then again, he is a good actor.

"Haze!" I shout as we approach him. "Look who I bumped into in the city. This is James, the boy who saved us the other day."

"Hello. I'm James, but my friends call me J, we are friends now, am I right?" J introduces himself, despite me already having done that, and shakes Haze's hand. Before long they are in a deep conversation about guy stuff, both of them acting at award level.

Haze shows off a little by lighting a fire for dinner a little later, But J does not show him his power, sadly, its quite a cool power.

After dinner I just sit and listen to their rambling conversation. It's very boring if you ask me, but they seem to find it exciting. Before long their chatter lowers to a far away whisper then it's replaced by safe dreams and peaceful sleep.
