Catching Smoke

She was different from anyone he had ever met before.

Unique.

In a good way.

He was known as the tricky pirate. The one who never left you alone without making you feel confused.

He wasn’t always like that, though.

He learned it from her.

She used to always tell him, “Smile. It confuses people.” so he did.

He knew she wasn’t dead. He knew she wouldn’t die without a fight and that she was going to go out the same way she came in: kicking and screaming.

He missed her - even though he’d never admit it - but trying to catch her was like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands.

Impossible.

But he’s known to be able to do the impossible.

A/N: Okay, so this is only the prologue. I haven’t typed up the first chapter yet but I wanted to post this because I was really excited about this idea. I’m typing up chapter one now and I’ll post it when I’m done, but keep in mind, where I am, it’s 10:30 on a school night so I can’t make any promises of it being posted tonight but I’ll do my best. Anyway, I hope you like it so far and that you’re curious enough to continue reading when I post it. (:
