Laurence was lonely.
Very lonely.
He had moved away from his friends in New York to pursue his career in YouTube. Due to his looks and sense of humor, he figured it was a great idea to become a YouTuber. Now he was regretting it. Aphmau, Dante, Travis, Lucinda, Kawaii~Chan, Katelyn, Aaron, and Zane had all reacted poorly to Laurence's announcement of moving. Well, all of them except Dante and Travis. They were excited to have the house to themselves, except Dante, who showed slight displeasure at the thought of being alone with Travis.
And then there was one. Laurence had the entire apartment room to himself. It was relatively large, too. He was just getting done unpacking the last bit of equipment and life appliances. After he had set up his camera, put the various 'morning routine' items in the bathroom, and set up his cable, Laurence collapsed onto the couch. It took three days of non-stop effort between himself and the moving company to move the majority of important items into the house and get it settled. After all of what he had went through the past few days, anyone would be exhausted. He turned on the TV and started watching anime. Aphmau had convinced him, or rather, forced him to watch anime while in New York. About midway through the first episode he intended to watch, he dozed off to sleep.
It wasn't long after until he woke up at 3 in the morning. After all, he did fall asleep rather early in the day due to exhaustion and overwork. Deciding he could not fall back asleep, Laurence reluctantly sat up, got a snack, sat back down, and turned on Netflix. He put on his favorite anime, but was only half paying attention while scrolling through his Instagram feed. As he had a habit of doing, Laurence clicked on the notifications tab to see what was up. Kawaii~Chan had tagged him in a video, reading: "I think you'll get a kick out of this @laurence_zvahl", among other notifications that he investigated at a later date. The post had been made by a person named "blondblueboy". Clearly, whoever this guy was, he had a large internet following. The post had only been made a few hours ago and already had more than 5,000 likes and 2,000 comments. Finding the brief comedy skit Kawaii~Chan had tagged him in funny, Laurence stalked this person's Instagram, chuckling at more than half of the posts he had chosen to look at. As he found out in this person's bio, whoever it was also ran a YouTube channel. Was he surprised? Not particularly. This person had obviously had to gain popularity somehow and somewhere.
Curious, Laurence pretty much tuned out the TV entirely. He clicked on one of the videos, titled "Dumb Stereotypes".
"Hey guys! Blue Knight here an-" Laurence paused to take in the boy's figure. It was hard going based off of how he appeared, but he looked about Laurence's age (21), or slightly younger. He had pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His face was flawless - not a bump nor pore noticeable. It was no wonder why this Blue Knight had 400,000 subscribers. Laurence had about half that much, coming in at about 200,000. Done comparing himself to this new found, possible subscription, he resumed the video.
"-d today I want to talk about dumb stereotypes. This is going to be the kind of video that offends people, so click away if you're afraid of that. So let me start off by saying that I get a lot of stereotyping from Americans. 'Oh, you're British! Is it true you people drink a lot of tea?' Well, yes, but you shouldn't say it to their face." Laurence chuckled at the boy's ability to joke about himself and his funny impersonation of an American man. "Another thing I hear a lot as a British person is, 'Why don't you ever brush your teeth?'" Blue Knight paused after that sentence, staring sarcastically into the camera at a few different angles. "Honey, we brush our teeth. Shut your close-minded mouth and educate yourself past 1850 American education."
Laurence quickly subscribed to the channel and closed out. If he had watched any longer, he may have died of oxygen loss. Well awake now, Laurence got ready for the rest of his day.
I don't know where this is going. I kind of just started it? The next chapter will feature a time skip because they're good for not including utterly useless information.
