Eirene's POV

And that's what the invitation said. I myself was really excited, since I could get away from my family whom i hate.

There's my father who doesn't really like me or my twin since he didn't want to take care of us in the first place. Then there's our wicked stepmother who is really mean, hates us, and kinda abusive when dad isn't around. And last, there's my half-sister Helen Phaedra, who is somewhat the better than the others, since she is rather nice to us.

"Eirene! Erica! What the heck are you doing standing in the doorway?! Get in here I have something for you two to do" A shrill voice, belonging to who else but our stepmother, yelled at us.

"Yes we're coming!" Erica yelled back, muttering about how annoying she is

Once we got in, she appeared in front of us with a mop and a broom handing them to each of us. Then she spotted the rolled up scroll

"What's that you're holding?" She asked rather rudely as she snatched it away from my hand

A silent moment passed as she read the invitation. Then she flipped the scroll to see the school stamp and other formalities. After a while she muttered something we couldn't hear and yelled to our father.

"This is absurd. How did you get this?" She demanded. "It droppes out of the sky when there was a gust of wind outside," I replied. "Ridiculous! I need to talk with your father. Put those brooms away and follow me!" She ordered as she led us to dad's office.

"William, look at this letter. It's ridiculous. Demigods doesn't exist. And you said the twins' mother died in a car accident," my stepmother said as soon as we entered dad's office. She then handed him the scroll.

My dad looked up from his computer, read the letter, and sighed. "I knew this day would be coming soon, you need to know the truth," he said while all of us just gaped at him.

"Eirene, Erica, your mother didn't die in a car accident. That was just a lie to keep you safe, since it's better for you not to know the truth yet. You see, your mother isn't a normal woman, she is a Greek goddess. I never knew who exactly she is, since she didn't want me to know, but surely, she is an immortal goddess," he said smiling slightly

"But William, that's absurd, you can't let them go to this boarding school," my stepmother protested. "I have to, Julia. It's for their best," my father said. "Go on girls, pack your clothes and belongings you need. After you're done, come back here, I have something your mother left you," my father said with a sad smile. My stepmother just stood there miffed, knowing she wouldn't be able to change his mind.
