"Juliet!!" I hear my Dad's voice call from downstairs. I groan and get out of my tiny, yet safe warm bed. While making it I take my time because this is the last morning it will be my bed .

"Taylor!"  He calls again.

"I'm up!" I yell back. I hear the oven go off and the cabinets open and shut downstairs. He must be making breakfast.

I start getting that butterflies in your stomach feeling as I start getting dressed and gathering up the last bit of my things. I have spent the last four years anticipating college. I have spent my weekends studying and working as hard as I can peparing for this. While my peers were out getting  drunk and wasting their time at meaningless partys. The day my acceptance letter from oxford I was thrilled. My dad would not stop talking about it for hours and bragged to all his co-workers at the Hospital, and I have to admit I was pretty proud of myself. All my hard work finely payed off. I haven't really ever considered leaving North Carolina for college let alone my country. But I desided to go for it, even though I like familiarty I think this will be good for me.

After a few minutes of getting ready and making sure my things are good to go. I pull out my journal and start writing. Before I know it my dad calls my name yet again. I ignore him. I know he is nervous about me leaving the country for college but I have had this day planned down to the hour for what seems like months. My boyfriend Shawn will be here soon to fly to England with my dad and I. Shawn is twenty a year older then me and is going to UNC. He has always had straight A's just like I did. He is brilliant and will be joining me at Oxford next year. I wish that he was coming now though, especially considering that I won't know a single person. I am just hoping and praying for a decent roommate if I get that it will make things a lot easier.

"Taylor!"  I close my journal and put it in my backback "I am coming down now, I have heared you for the 3rd time!" I yell back as I take one last look of my room and head down the stairs. Shawn is sitting at the table across from my dad dressed in a grey shirt with a blue caragin and a pair of jeans, his normal attire. His brown hair is spicked up a little and lightly gelled.

"Hey college girl." He smiles his bright perfect smile. He stands to pull me into a tight hug. "Hi." I give him an equally bright smile and pull my dark brown hair into a ponytail once he lets go of the hug. "Shawn and I will go put your things in the car." my dad says as he grabs my suitcases and gives me a quick kiss on my cheek and they disappear from the kitchen. The nerves kick in again as I walk to the car, at least there is a 10 hour plane ride to make them disappear. What will college be like? Will I make any friends.....
