( LC13's P.O.V )
I told LT6 to go to sleep first and that I was wide awake. I wanted her to get some sleep because she almost got captured. If it were not for that Matt person, she would have been a goner. Them devils don't care what we feel. To them, we are the mere tools of their amusement, creatures of their creation and think we should praise them for wanting to make us kill ourselves. I don't mean suicide either.
Remember when I was in the laboratory? I was brought into the room where they take the one whom are to be erased. It is not always a case of, it won't hurt a bit. The white coats like to watch you suffer and cry. They love to see you fall off the treadmill because your heart is one beat away from stopping. They like the sound of your Last breath leaving your body. The white coats did that to a lot of us and didn't even blink or stop to think if it was wrong. They just said," Start running." And " Just leave it alone. Let it fade."
I always wondered," If they worked so hard to make the perfect child, to be the weapon for the nations, why would they kill off " projects " that could learn?" What I didn't know was, the white coats put their D.N.A into the test tubes. One male and one female would willingly give up some of their D.N.A to create a child, only to watch their boss make them run themselves to death. I never knew I even had parents, until yesterday, in that room. I guess, the parents are not allowed to have anything to do with their children, until the day they are to be erased from the system. From what I saw, There are many ways they could have killed me, but they chose to make me run.
"Why?" I asked myself under my breath. I looked over at LT and LB laying there, fast asleep.
The hay must have been more comfortable then the beds we used to sleep on because as soon as LT's head hit the hay, she was out. I laugh to myself and look out at the abandon filed. I see beauty in the way the weeds move with ever brush of wind. It is almost like they are dancing. It would be nice if this moment could last forever. A never ending dance for the song of the wind is always playing. It's silent beauty makes the song even more pretty. I can fill a strong filling of amazement shroud my mind as I watch. I had not had the time, until now, to take a close look at the world I wanted to see and share with my sisters, but now I could not just see it. I could fill it and touch it. It was real and I knew that this ways no dream, but I was so amazed that we had escaped the Laboratory and the shinigami. They probably put tracking devices in the coats. With that though, I walked over to the coats we had confiscated from the shi no ten shi and checked them thoroughly.
"Maybe I was just being paranoid." I whispered. Then I looked at the name on one of the coats. "Arabella, that was the woman that was there when I woke up. But she wasn't in that alley. There was only men that were there. Plus, I never saw her after that day."
I herd a stick break somewhere near by and turned in the direction of the noise. I listened for someone to say something, but there ways nothing.
" Hmm. . ." I looked down to see if someone was in the barn, but no one was there.
" It must have just been an animal." I said standing back up. I turned and looked at my sisters, they were still asleep. I looked back outside. The moon was shining so beautifully, that I almost forgot that I we were hiding and that I was on watch. I looked around and found a book on the floor of the loft.
It was old and a little weathered, but other than that, it was in good shape. I opened the book gently and looked at the pages. The book had gotten wet so many times that the ink had practically faded to nothing. I gently replaced the book and walked back to where I was standing. I stared out at the empty filed for what seemed like hours and I started to get cold, so I grabbed a coat and wrapped myself in it. I looked up at the sky and thought of the others at the laboratory, living a lie.
" Why couldn't they wake up? Did they all have chips in their heads?" I asked myself as I stood there. I wanted to go to sleep but I had to stay wake in the event someone found us. I would have to fight them to keep my sisters safe.
" I have been awake for hours. But I don't want to wake LT." I said to myself, looking over at her.
An Owl screeched from the rafters.
" Shush! You'll wake them. Hey, you are a very pretty bird. You must be a barn owl, right?" I asked the owl. It turned it's head and came down from the rafters. It landed on the floor and walked over to me. I thought it was weird how it acted when it saw me. Usually, owls do not like humans, but for some reason, I have seem to be a little Snow White. He-He, I guess I kind-of am.
" What is it, little Luna?" I asked, assuming it wouldn't mind me giving it a name, since I expected it to leave in the morning.
The owl cooed quieter than last time.
" Are you hungry?" I asked the bird. It just turned it's head.
" I take that as a yes, but I don't have anything to give you, my friend. I'm sorry." I said with a bitter sweet smile.
The owl flew up and landed on my shoulder gently.
" You wish to be my friend?" I asked the bird.
He squawked while relaxing.
" Maybe I should call you something other than Luna because your probably a boy. Maybe something that goes for both genders. Hmm. . . How about . . . Fantasma?" I asked the owl with a smile.
The owl responded positively. I had a new friend and I named them Fantasma which is Italian for ghost. I thought it suited the, pure white, bird perfectly.
" What's with all the noise. LC? Huh!? Why is there an OWL ON YOUR SHOULDER!?" LT6 exclaimed from where she sat.
I turned and looked at her. " Oh, this is my new friend. I named them Fantasma." I replied calmly. Then I noticed that she had gone silent. " What is it?" I asked.
" It's huge!" She said rather loudly. She quickly covered her mouth as LB rolled over.
" Sorry, but that's a really big bird." She told me not taking her widened eyes off of Fantasma.
" It's loud, too." I inform her calmly. I smiled at the bird and watched as he flew back to the rafters.
" How are you going to get him to stay with you as we move?"
" I don't know, LT. I guess it is not up to me. By the looks of it, it might already have an owner. Not just that, if it is wild, it wouldn't be right to keep him against his will. I am just assuming that it is a boy because I can't tell. Anyway, since you are awake, you can take watch." I laid down on the hay and fell asleep.
( I am running out of ideas!!!! AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!)
