I walk home from school slower than usual. I'm just too nervous, my buddy is my crush, I'm going to Australia. When u walk in the door I explain the trip to my mom. She agrees so I go up to our old musty attic to get my luggage. The attic is dark and there are cobwebs hanging down everywhere I look. Eww. I lift a big empty box and toss it aside, I see my blue suitcase with it's white polka dots stained brown from the many years it has been sitting up here, unused, and untouched. I grab it and pull it up, about a decade of dust from underneath it waves up in my pale face. I cough. I walk down the stairs and go inside. I go to my room where my mom is already frantically grabbing all of my clothes for Australia and throwing them onto my bed. I grab a wet cloth and wipe off my suitcase.
"Mom! Just chill out. We have all night and half of tomorrow." I tell my mom.
"I know sweetie. But you know I like to get things done." She answers.
"Yeah but I can do it myself." I tell her.
"Ok good luck." She answers.
"Thank you." I tell her.
I spend about two hours in my room packing. Then I go downstairs for dinner.
