There is a saying that goes "expect the unexpected" but even when we are expecting the unexpected we still are expecting so it would make a lot more sense if it said expect nothing for anything can happen whenever we want something to happen.

Pain.........that was the first thing Victoria Alex now Mrs. Roman felt as she moved her fingers from last night's position. This was all she had been feeling since last week and so it was nothing new.

Every morning getting up for Victoria wasn't excruciating, but today, it was as though she was being trampled by raging elephants during a hurricane.

Looking in the mirror was another slap in the face, as there wasn't a single spot on her skin without either a bruise, cut or scar. Some of which were only a days old while others were at least three years.

There were also some vacant spots on her scalp that showed clearly they were once covered in long beautiful African American hair. These spots made it look as though she was shaving her head to undergo kemo therapy.

Her hands were so battered they couldn't be lifted without them shaking as though they were victims of bad nerves............

Victoria's life wasn't always like this, she was once beautiful happy and carefree, but like everything else it all went downhill the week after exchanging vows of love on the day she believed was the best day of her life.

If she had been told three years ago that her life would be like this today, she would have called you crazy in a heartbeat. She would have said the God she prayed to and worshipped everyday would never allow this. Now, to Victoria there is no God.

"Click", that was the oh so familiar sound of her mahogany bedroom door.

He's home, she thought to herself as she stared in the mirror over her bed.

"Victoria", he roared as he stepped on the carpet in their room.
