The purple-haired man stood up from a young sleeping boy. It was his time to leave this town finally. He pulled out a sword and cut off boy's head. 'Such a shame...' he thought, 'This one could have pretty good life.' Indeed. Boy's father was pretty rich and his only son would get perfect schools and everything to be happy. If he wouldn't have met Baron Bluebeard. No, better said, if he wouldn't have fallen in love with him. Although Baron had long hair, dressed stylish, beautiful eyes, gently lips and nearly woman's face, he was still the famous and feared Gilles de Rais. People called him demon. Priests called him dark soul. Only young boys like the dead one here called him his new name. He refused to be known as Baron Bluebeard. Gilles de Rais suited him better. He walked out of the door of boy's room, not even knowing his name already. Suddenly he froze at the spot as he saw them. Twenty guard knights. His heart stopped. How were they able to find him? What will they do to him? Oh yeah, kill him of course. But he couldn't die yet! It still wasn't enough!
*flashback*
There was nobody like her. She was the most beautiful girl he ever knew. He still remembered the day they first met. His bleeding hands. Her careful voice. Her calm moves. He innocent eyes. Her simple grey dress that were making her body look the best possible way. But it wasn't her body or anything of those things that interested him. It was her words.
"Are you alright?" she went to him as he hid his hands behind his back.
"Leave me alone" he growled at her hoping she'll go away. But she didn't. She took his wrist.
"So you're not. Come with me, I will help you." She took him to his house. Her family was kinda poor. Her father was sent to the war with Britain. But she made him some food and took care about his wounds. He never met a girl like her. She was smiling all the time. Her cute smile was shining through his day. He decided to stay by her side and help her as much as possible. He was with her every single day for four years. It were the best years of his entire life. Jeanne and him...
After four years he asked her mother to let him marry his beloved. Mother agreed. Happiest day he could ever imagine. Him and Jeanne were together whole day.
"Hmm, Gilles?" she asked him.
"Yes, sweetheart?" he replied with a kind smile showing on his lips.
"Would you mind if I went to the war now?"
He looked at her, his eyes widering in surprise, "Of course I would!" he couldn't even think about life without his love, "Jeanne, what are you planing to do, my love?"
"It's nothing, don't worry" she showed her kind and honest smile to him. The smile that could always make him calm. He placed his head on her lap and let her fingers run through his silky hair. She was the most beautiful thing in the world. So kind, so sweet, so pure. He loved everything about her. Not only that she was cute. He knew she was strong when needed. He knew she was clever. He knew she would do anything to help everyone. That was why he was worrying about her. She was an amazing woman. If she wanted, she could do anything.
He fell asleep there. As he woke up, he found out Jeanne was not with him. He was lying in the grass. But when he looked around, he saw her. She was staring at the sky, where was an angel. Gilles could see him too. He had white hair, a bit too long for a boy, but still shorter than Baron. His wings were huge. At least two times longer than how tall he was. But for some reason he looked like a boy about sixteen years old. He was wearing a white shirt, long white jacket and plain white trousers.
Gilles watched him fly down to his beloved. The angel touched her forehead gently. Her hair suddenly curled up to an expensive-looking haircut. She stood there looking at the angel. And she was whispering something, but Gilles only heard one word.
"Michael..."
Michael pet her head and dissapeard. Without a single sign of thinking, Jeanne started running to the tow. Her lover followed her as fast as he could, calling her. No reaction. She was like she didn't hear him. When they got to the town, they saw a small army preparing for a fight against the British soldiers to protect the town. Before he could say anything, she sat on her horse and grabbed a French flag. Joined the army, going to the first line. She showed the flag above her head.
"I was chosen by God!" she said, "I heard his voice. He told me, he wants me to set France free again!"
*end of the flashback*
He didn't know, how. Suddenly he was standing there, covered with blood with only one left alive soldier in front of him. He looked frightened. Gilles de Rais came to him, grabing his face in hands. With a gentle smile Baron gave the man a deep passionate kiss. Yes, that was his life now. Atracting boys. Sleeping with them. Killing them. Getting chased. Losing control.
All for one thing. For the God to come and judge him. So he could ask why did she have to die. Why her own motherland betrayed her. Why the king betrayed her. And why did Michael even did it to her. All these questions were running through Bluebeard's mind as he was kissing the soldier. He could kill him. He could do anything to him. But he didn't. He kissed him. And then he let him go, leaving the house with a little tricky smile showing on his face.
She said God was calling her. He said no God exists. People said he was a demon. He said demons don't exist. Everytime he did his work, he was hoping at least for seeing Michael again so he could rip his wings off just like the angel did to his luck. Just like the angel did to his life.
