Chapter 14

The two cleaned up the house before Marinette's parents got home.

They jumped on the couch exhausted from that hard work. It was quiet for a while until Marinette's phone rang. She saw the caller I.D and froze.

It was Chloé

Why would she, of all people, be calling Marinette.

Marinette sighed and answered the phone hesitantly. Surprisingly, she wasn't yelling at her. She called to ask Marinette if her parents could cater the desserts for her birthday party. Marinette said that she'd tell her parents and they'd call her father back.

Then, of course, Chloé made some rude remarks to Marinette only to be sassed back anf and hang up with a scoff.

Adrien got up and decided he should get going. He didn't want her parents to wonder why Marinette had boys over.

"Well Marinette, "the blonde started, " I should get going. I don't want your parents to freak out when they see me." He leaned in to kiss her goodbye but she pushed him away. She realized he had never answered her question.

"Adrien, you know I love you, " the ladybug- themed heroine started," but I need to know honestly. Do you love me or Ladybug?"

"I love both of you. I love the brave, funny, and heroic girl with a ladybug costume just as much as I love the smart, creative, and beautiful girl underneath it. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. Would I lie to you bugaboo," asked the cat-like male.

He had chosen. Who said you couldn't love the same person twice? There was nothing that could possibly go wrong. Or was there?

"Before I go, I just wanted to know. Do you love your kitty or your cinnamon roll? Yeah, I heard the secret name you gave me."

Marinette was so confused. She wasn't expecting that question. She really couldn't answer. When it was silent for too long, Adrien left. He wanted to give her time to think.

--3 months later--

Marinette and Adrien hadn't spoken to each other in 3 months. Both teens were depressed. Akuma battles were awkward. School was torture. Everything was a huge mess.

Would the two ever get back together?
