Part four:

A/N: *bawls* I’m so so so so so so so very sorry for not having posted since June!!! Some are angry for me but I was so busy! College life is hard. I almost failed two classes! T_T it’s sem break now, but I’m still pretty busy. Always at the campus because I’m needed by the publication team--- guess who made it as the Managing Editor?!!! Ha! The position’s wrong, but I love it! I can have a scholarship for my tuition fee but help me pray! My weighted average is 0.02 points lower than asked! I really need that scholarship so help me pray please!?! I’m posting two chapters to day to make it up and another two or one tomorrow. PROMISE.

Sam closed his eyes, not even able to bring himself to curse when he saw the look on Leah’s face. He turned away from the window with effort and closed the blinds. Even if Emily was the love of his life, his whole existence now, he might not be able to say his vows properly if he saw Leah like that later.

Leah looked down and wiped her eyes. She gave a huge sniff, ignoring the painful vampire stench as she exhaled and inhaled huge breaths.

She took one look at the necklace and ring on her hand and nodded to herself. She decided to put it on as a bracelet. Twice it wound around her left wrist, the ring looking like an assortment dangling alone; just like how she was anywhere she went. She couldn’t bear put it around her neck ever since Sam and Emily came out together in public. It had begun feeling too heavy. Sometimes the ring felt hot, or as if the chain was strangling her, of course it was her imagination, but she could never let go of it. Besides, no one else probably remembered what it was or who it came from.

It was half a good thing for Leah. She could wear it and still try to feel some sense of what life had been like without anybody criticizing her or giving her accusatory glances. No one ever gave notice anymore to whatever she wore or did. Except if it endangered the pack or pissed other people. She was nice and invisible, most of the time.

She smiled softly and walked onward bravely. Seth met her halfway. He had caught her scent and wanted to give every bit of the moral support he could today. He didn’t say a word. He just smiled quietly and offered his arm.

Seth was taller than Leah was now and Leah had to look up to him, a smile on her face that looked more genuine than Seth’s. Years of practice. “Don’t fake the smile, Seth. You were never a good actor. Doesn’t look good on you.”

“Like you’ve ever been an actress material.” Seth snorted under his breath, trying to keep it light. He smiled a little more truthfully now and Leah took his arm.

They walked together without a word and until they got near Leah took away her hand. “Jake’s my partner.”

Jacob had spotted them from the other side and was making his way to them quick.

“I’m sure not even Nessie will be jealous.” Seth joked.

Leah walked on ahead. “Sure, sure… Lovely wedding. Tulips, though. Emily’s style. We planned white roses, though.  Oh, well...”
