Bellarke (T100)

Chapter 3- Butterflies

We have been walking for miles, and I think it's time to take a rest. 

"Why don't we set up our sleeping area here, and rest. We will leave at first light." Bellamy says reading my mind. 

"Good idea." Octavia says. We all pick our spots and start a fire. 

It has been about 20 minutes and everybody is asleep, well everyone except for me. I just can't sleep not knowing what is out here. I look at Octavia. Back on the ark, I would always sneak around, going to her room. I never thought I would see her again. I most definitely didn't think it would be on earth.

It happened so quickly, from my dad being floated, me being locked up, and coming down to earth. It's almost to much to bear. 

I look at Bellamy, and jump. He is staring, wide eyed at me.

"Scared princess?" he asks smirking.

"Couldn't sleep?" I ask. He stops smirking and looks at the ground. 

"More of thinking. I can't sleep wondering what's out there, you know?" he says looking up at me again. 

"I know exactly what you mean. I just don't believe we are the only ones here." we stay silent for a moment, just enjoying the night sky, and fresh air. The silence is broken by a snap of a twig. We both jump up, and look around.

"Stay here, I will figure out what it is." he says starting to get up.

"Wait, i'm coming with you." I say starting to get up as well. He puts his hand up to stop me.

"No, if any of them wake up, we need at least one of us to be here." he says, and I nod. He walks off, and without him, I don't feel safe.

He doesn't come back for about 10 minutes, and when he does, he ushers me to follow him, and puts a finger on his mouth, for me to keep quiet. We walk not to far and what is ahead of me is beautiful. There is glowing blue butterflies flying around, and sitting on the trees. I hold my arms out, and smile so wide that it hurts. Bellamy laughs and holds his arm out.

"Beautiful isn't it?" he asks. Three butterflies land on my arms.

"Oh my god, Bellamy this is amazing." I say laughing and looking closely at the butterflies. I put my arms down and just look around me. Bellamy comes up and stands next to me. I look up at him and smile, and he looks down at me and smiles. Our moment is ruined by a piercing scream coming from our little camp. We both look at each other and run. When we get there everyone is gone, and Octavia is sitting their, with tears on her face frantically looking around.

"Oh my god, Bellamy, Clarke, I-I was so scared and I thought you were all gone and dead." Octavia says.

"O, we are right here." Bellamy says hugging her.

"Where are the others?" I ask.

"I don't know, when I woke up th-they were gone." she says rubbing her eyes. We hear a male pitched scream, far out in the woods, and look at eachother.

"We have to go after them." I say, grabbing my pack.

"Well whatever has them, doesn't sound to friendly." Bellamy says.

"We can't just let them get taken." I say.

"I-I, ugh, let's go." Bellamy says, grabbing his pack.

Whatever is out there, we need to be prepared.
