Emerald's PoV

A day later, I stare at my buzzing phone, not sure if I should answer it.

Niall was calling me.

You can't ignore it. Okay, but what if he finds out about Harry?

Grabbing the ringing cell, I answer before putting it to my ear, "Hello?"

"Hi."

"What's up?" I asked, "Is there a job?"

He laughs over the phone, shocking me a little, "No. I was just seeing what you were doing."

I immediately get annoyed, but I swallow it before saying, "Well, I'm busy."

"Doing what?"

"Thinking."

"Thinking about what?"

"Nosey much?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

He laughs again, "Annoyed much?"

"Niall, I'm hanging up."

"Okay, okay, fine. Meet me at the usual spot tomorrow."

He then hangs up the phone, and I decide to lay down. I'm exhausted.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point.

What would mom and dad do? I asked myself, my head throbbing from the painful memories.

Shaking them off, I decide to just read a book. Once I finished, I look at the slip of paper that Harry gave me.

Should I dial it? I thought, knowing that I have nothing else to do.

I tell myself to do it, pushing the ten digits into my phone. It rings twice before it picks up.

I hear a short laugh, "So you actually called. I was surprised."

"How did you know it was me though?" I asked, "You don't have my number."

"I don't, but I knew it was you. You hesitate a lot before starting a conversation."

"Whatever." I sighed, "What're you doing?"

"Nothing much. Why?" He asked.

Good question. I thought, Why did I call him?

"I'm bored."

"Why don't you come over? I don't live too far from you. I'm making spaghetti."

My stomach growled at the fact, "Okay, I'll be over in about an hour or so."

"Already agreeing? Okay, sure." He said, giving me his address.

Disconnecting the call, I smile to myself before heading to my room and getting ready.

Harry's PoV

I hang up the phone and scream in panic.

I didn't cook yet. Why did I say that?! Spaghetti shouldn't take that long, right? Ugh! I need to comb my hair, and get dressed! I got wine, right? Do I even have the right stuff for cooking?! I thought, throwing myself all over the living room as I waste even more time.

Thinking fast, I go to the store that was five minutes away to buy everything I need.

Okay! Garlic bread, seasonings, meat for the meatballs, sauce, noodles... I think I'm good!

Once I get home, I start cooking the noodles while I start with the meatballs.

I'm good with cooking, it's just that I made the wrong decision by telling her that it's all ready. At least we'll have fresh food to eat.

Once I finish the meatballs, I pop the bread into the oven before dumping the sauce and meatballs into a pot on cook it on medium heat.

I then take a quick shower before getting dressed in something more nice. Doing my hair, I make sure it's in place before heading back downstairs, and making sure the food's done.

The garlic bread was nice and crispy, the sauce was perfect, and the noodles were the perfect texture.

I set the table, putting spaghetti and garlic bread on two separate, white plates with a bowl of caesar salad in the center.

Classic meal. I'm glad I made the salad.

Once I made sure everything was in place, I sit down and watch the clock while catching my breath.

Five cool points to me for getting all of this ready in time.

Finally, the doorbell rings. I calmy stand up, making sure my hair was in place, I go and answer it.

Emerald was there, checking her face in a small, handheld mirror.

"Hi." I said, shaking her out of her trance as she stuffed it away in her purse.

"Hey. Sorry for the late notice." She said.

"Come inside." I said, leading her into my house.

She looks around, taking in everything that she saw slowly, "It's nice. It's just you here?"

"Yeah." I replied, "I decided to move to Rome the second I moved away from my parents."

"They must miss you." She said as I lead her to the dining room.

I nod, knowing that they call me every few weeks.

We sit down, and start eating.

"You're a good cook." She said after the first bite, she hums in delight "It's really good."

"Not as good as your pancakes."

Laughing, she dabs her face with a napkin, "They're just pancakes though."

After thirty minutes, I start pouring wine. If I get her tipsy, she might tell me what she's hiding.

"So, what exactly is your life like?" I asked, "What're your parents like?"

I watch as her whole body freezes, shocking me a little. She then relaxes, "Well, they moved a short while ago."

"Where did they go?"

"I don't wanna talk about it." She said, taking a gulp of her wine.

Weird. How many secrets can she possibly have?

It's crazy. It's like the more I find out about her, the more secrets I need to discover.

She's like the moon. A part of her is always going to be hidden. I've known her for only a few days, and I want to play this little mystery game she has going on.

Nothing wrong with that. I like mysterious people. It gives me a reason to get to know them.
