Thump-thump, thump-thump. His feet against the laboratory ground, escaping from the rampaging scientists. His things acing from the amount of running, his lungs on fire. He pushed himself, farther away.
The scientists made tests on humans they brought into the lab, giving them animal parts. In Delirious' case, raccoon. He escaped, just barely. He ran into a room, closing and locking the door, thinking he was alone, but nope his luck is never best.
He saw a pair if eyes, big, a mix of golden and dark brown iris, small pupils. He heard a ruffle and the room light up slightly, revealing another escaped 'test'.
"Owl" Delirious said quietly and the owl neared the raccoon. He saw the golden brown feathers of the large wings. "Raccoon" the other said, slowly nearing the jumpy 'test'. Without thinking, Delirious reached out and lightly touched the feathers, eating a small gasp from the owl like creature. He pulled his hand back, color on his cheeks. "Sorry" Delirious mumbled, the owl laughed. "Heh, no worries" he said, his voice deep and quiet.
The owl reached out and stroked the raccoons' tail, Delirious gasping and jumping. The owl chuckled and went silent as they both heard loud footsteps and yelling. The owl pulled the raccoon close and back in the one corner, holding him as if he was about to die. Delirious felt safe with the mysterious owl, as if he knew him his whole life. He relaxed into the owl. "Name is Vanoss, but you can call me Evan~" Vanoss said, turning the owl around in his lap. Delirious blushed, "I'm Delirious"
