"Hola ! ¡Hola! Estoy Antonio !! Aqui !! Sir Montague! " yelled the happy Spanish man, with his soft brown hair and beautiful green eyes. He waved from the end of the port, shouting and jumping! He was causing quite a ruckus and it annoyed almost everyone.
Sir Montisue on the other hand, laughed loudly. " There he is. Hola Sir Antonio! " he called back with a wave of his hand. The group walked over to him, and saw the magnificent lavender- blue carriage that he must have traveled with, parked next to him. The horses were pure white.
" Hello." Antonio said and bowed his head. Arthur, Maria , and Alfred returned the respected greeting.
" As you are well aware by now. I am Antonio. " he said, " I was sent by The cathedral of Barcelona. I am to be your escort and your guide in Spain. "
" What a pretty carriage." Oohed Maria and her eyes twinkled upon the sight of the coach. Spain , thinking it was cute, took her hand and kissed it. " Then please, mi bella dama, allow me to personally escort you to your ride for the evening."
Sister Maria giggled and curtsied. " Yo estaría encantado ( I'll be delighted) " she said in a terrible Spanish accent. The spaniard merely laughed and walked her to the door.
Montisue inched closer to Alfred and Arthur. " what do you think of the chap? A rather jolly fellow is he not?"
Alfred sucked his teeth." Man talks mile a minute and looks like a player. " Arthur shrugged. " He seems to have taken a fancy to Maria. " he noted, looking at how the two laughed and giggled.
Alfred raised a brow. " Didn't know you could sniff out a love sister. Now, where was that trick before ?? " Montisue glared at him and punched Alfred in the arm. Arthur looked ahead, unaffected, and followed Maria.
Against God
Arthur didn't imagine Spain to be so..gorgeous. The village were unlike in England. Orange tiled roofs with palm trees on every street. People always smiling and laughing. It was kind of annoying. But at least the weather was nice. The sky was always blue and the road smith and clean. String smells of dinner and spices wafted the air.
Maria and Antonio talked the entire carriage ride to the cathedral. It was mostly about food, clothes, people and how the city was filled with " love." Maria would blush madly when she spoke the word. It annoyed the hell out of Alfred. He didn't trust the spaniard for a reason. He was too..cheerful. That was it. That's why he was suspicious. He eyes him the entire ride as well. Montisue, feeling horribly awkward, plastered a fake, too fake, smile on his face and hummed the monk's enchantment.
Arthur gasped when he saw the cathedral Barcelona. The magnificent structure and design of the building was absolutely breathtaking. It stood well over 1746 feet tall! Lots of people surrounded the Door in the cloister, so Antonio had quite a difficult time deciding here to stop the Carriage. He finally settled on parking it by the cloister and he had to run out of the cart and tell everyone to Make way for the 'cathedral's' guests. Once a gap formed, Antonio ushered everyone to hurry and get inside.
Alfred was taking in the impression the cathedral had in him. Turns out the cathedral was a hall church, vaulted over five aisles, the outer two divided into chapels. The transept is truncated. The east end is a chevet of nine radiating chapels connected by an ambulatory. The high altar was raised, allowing a clear view into the crypt. The church looked gold under all of the candlelight. The chandelier made the ceiling twinkle like stars. Unlike outside , it was very quiet. People murmured instead of shouted. Their hands were now folded to their hearts and their eyes closed. They looked like as if they were seeing a dream that no one else had the pleasure of seeing. The looked so peaceful, happy..and just dead.
Montisue put a finger to his lips and closed his eyes and murmured and prayed. Alfred did the same. Antonio now disappeared. Maria pulled Arthur towards her ear.
" This more prettier than I imagined. Puts our scrawny little church to shame. " she whispered, eyeing everything. Arthur had to agree. He wondered what the nuns and monks would look like. Probably Angels.
Maria than tapped Arthur's shoulder and pointed to the left of them. Antonio was coming down the aisle with a man dressed in white.
