Chapter 41

Jason's P.O.V

We're in a mansion, I'm assuming that it's where she lived before Adam and Morgan regained guardianship. I'm running for my life. Why?

Because Lauren is chasing me. I'm trying to find a place to hide, but she finds me each time. She's trying to drag this out. Not only that, but she's already killed me twice and brought me back to life. The thing is, I don't even know how she killed me.

I duck into a room and hide underneath a table of some sort. 'A desk.' I look around the room. A bed lays against the wall with sheets and covers of dark blues and blacks. All of the furniture is black. The walls are painted in patterns of black and blue. I see a few pictures of her, her friends, and her with Nancy. I stick my head out and look at what's on the desk.

I see a silver Toshiba laptop, a black lamp with a blue shade on it, a pencil case, and a picture in a silver vine frame. Of her and Sebastian. At the corners of the picture frame, the silver vines form hearts. In the picture, she's on Sebastian's back. Both are laughing.

"Jaaaaasooon!" She sings. "Where are you?"

Now she's starting to sing this weird, freaky song.

Lux's Singing

Our eyes are locked together
I can sense your horror

Thumping loudly through the hallways

Could you be inside the closet?

Ding Dong
I have found you

You were hiding here

Finally found you, dear

Looks like I have won
Now you're it

Ding Dong
Pay the consequence   

'What song even is that?' The door slams open. "I know you're in here." She announces.

Lauren's P.O.V

I slam open the door to what would be my room if I were actually home right now. But we're still in my twisted domain. "I know you're in here." I tell him.

I walk into the room. When I do, every single piece of glass shatters. Except the picture of Sebastian and I that lays on my desk. I walk over to my desk and pick up the picture. It was the second day of their arrival when it was taken. I pick it up. 'Why can't everyday be like this? Where all of us can laugh and have fun.'

I carefully put the picture down. "Come out now. You can never escape." I say, the tone of my voice sounding sweet and twisted.

I can sense him under my desk, but why not make him scared out of his mind first? I walk around the room, just studying it. The room I picked out and designed when I first came here.

'I've wasted enough time.' I crack the desk, turning it into nothing but splinters. Jason jumps to his feet, terrified. I turn around and smile. "Third time's a charm." I say.

He backs up to the door. I shut it with telekinesis and lock it. He jumps and turns around, shocked. He launches himself at the door, trying to break it open. "You're attempts are futile. But keep trying. It amuses me."

Jason turns around once again to face me. "Just let me out of here. Please Lauren." He begs. My face becomes emotionless, then a twisted smile creeps onto it. I give out an insane laugh.

"You really think I'll let you go just like that? Pitiful. Pathetic. Hilarious." I take a step forward. "I asked to go back. I said that I didn't like being away from my family. But I was ignored. So you know what? I'm gonna ignore your wishes now. Payback stinks, doesn't it?" I tilt my head and mock.

I turn my wand into a dagger. "You know, you did a good job disguising yourself. None of us could tell who you are, you know? I know you didn't tell the story correctly. You think that I never noticed?"

"Noticed what?" He stands tall, feeling braver.

"That demon you spoke of never made a contract with your brother." He freezes. "No, that demon didn't take the soul that your brother willing gave to her."

"What are you getting at?" He demands more than asks.

"Jason, you made that contract with the demon." I declare.

"Impossible." He says.

"Is it?" I drop my wand, which is still a dagger, into my left hand. I form a dagger of ice in my right hand and throw it at Jason. He turns to dodge it, but the dagger tears his shirt right where I wanted it to. The back of his left shoulder, revealing a diamond on top of a diamond encased in a circle. Where the diamonds cross, that area there is colored red, as well as the circle. The diamonds are both purple.

"Not only that, but you ordered the demon to turn you into a demon. You ate your brother's soul. Then you ordered the demon to kill herself."

He smiles. "You are absolutely correct. But how?"

"That demon. She was Nancy's sister."
