Camryn
-

We sat there for about an hour now. He told me a lot about him. Chandler did most of the talking. Every now and then he would get me to laugh.

I shivered slightly and he faced me.

"Camryn are you cold?" He asked me in a concerned tone. I chuckled lightly and nodded my head. "Yeah."

"Come here." Chandler said opening his arms slightly. I scooted over and hugged onto him. I could already feel his body heat radiate off of him.

He stared out at the stars, I did the same. They lit up the night. I've always been fascinated with stars. Really just space in general.

I admired the look on his face. It was soft and subtle.

He opened his mouth and took a deep breath. "What are your fears?" He asked turning his head towards me. I thought for a moment.

"I have a lot of fears." I said simply.

"What are your greatest fears then?" He asked. I looked at him.

"My greatest fears..." I said pausing a moment. "I fear of becoming nothing, I fear that one day I will die and I will never be known. I wouldn't have an impact of this world and once I die no one will care. I fear all of the unknown. I fear that I'm just wasting all my days on earth. I fear the fact I don't know what will happen in the future and that I will make the wrong choices." I said. My chest rose up and down quickly, it felt like a weight was resting in my stomach.

I was surprised that I said all of that. All these emotions built up inside of me. Those are the fears that've been holding me back.

Chandler didn't have much of a reaction. His face was somber.

"If there was a way for me to tell you how the 'story' ended. Would you change the steps you've taken, basically would you relive your days?" He asked his voice raspy and full of thought.

"No. I wouldn't." I said simply with a shrug. "It wouldn't matter because I wouldn't know better. Plus all we are is light in the darkness." I spoke calmly.

Chandler nodded softly. It was silent for s good few minutes.

"Let's forget our pasts and fears. Hold onto me and we will burn out slowly." Chandler said referring to what I said about being light in the darkness.

I smiled softly at him. His eyes had a glint in them, that was captivating.

"Hey, I have another place we can go." I said standing up and reaching my hand out for him to grab. He took my hand and stood up. We walked down the roof and jumped together off the building.

"Why are we at Waffle House?" Chandler asked chuckling lightly.

"Because I'm hungry? Duh." I said as I walked in. The door chimed and an employee looked up from where she stood.

"What are you children doin' at this late. I outta call your mommas'." She said with her hand on her hip, but a smile played on her lips.

"We are just hungry. Plus it isn't that late." I said smiling back as Chandler and I sat up at the bar.

"Baby, it's 12:31 AM." She said laughing as she turned back to what she was doing.

"It's really that late." I whispered softly to Chandler. He checked his phone and nodded.

"What are you going to get?"Chandler asked after looking at the menu.

"Pancakes, toast, bacon and a sweet tea. You?" I replied.

"Why are you getting pancakes when we are at a Waffle House? We could've gone to iHop. But I'm going to get the same thing except I'm actually getting waffles." He said laughing.
