Chapter 4

(Wren's POV)

I sit on my bed and read a text from Niall. He's sent me a picture of our most recent date to the theme park. He looks so cute on the rollercoaster.
Suddenly, I hear the door open. "Hey sis, how was your run in with the principal."

There was no answer. I looked up to see Addie sitting on her bed and looking blankly at the floor. "Is everything OK sis? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"He...hugged...me."

"Sorry, what was that."

"Owen. He hugged me. It felt good."

"OMG. You like him."

She snapped out of her trance. "No, I don't like him. It's not like I think about him all the time or want to be with him, or...enjoy our time together...more than anything else in the world."

"Yes. Yes you do like him. Oh my god." I ran out the door and ran straight into the kitchen, where mum and dad were talking about some competition. "Mum, Dad, this is so great."

Mum turned to face me. "What is dear?"

"Addie has a crush on Owen. This is the greatest thing ever."

"You really inherited your aunt's ability to see love a mile off. Also, before I forget, Dipper. Put down in the calendar that we are going to Mabel's for dinner next Saturday."

Dad got up. "You got it Paz."

"Anyway, where was I, oh yes. We already know. We knew ever since he hugged her in the corridor outside the principal's office. He waited for about an hour out there for her and then got worried for her when she came out. He seems to really care."

"If I remember correctly, she called him the brother she never had."

Miracle came in. "That's harsh."

He grabbed a glass of water and went back out.

Dad got back and sat back down. "Just don't push her. They will both realise soon enough." He put his hand on my mum's. "And when they do, it will be a great day for all." He kissed mum.

"Eeeww. PDA. Don't do that here."

My mum looked at me. "You can't talk young lady. I've seen the way you and Niall go at it in his car when you get back from your dates. Now get upstairs and don't push your sister."

I'm about to leave when the door bell goes. "Wren, could you get that for me?"

"OK mum."

I open the door to see aunt Mabel standing in the door with Oscar, Emma and her newest baby Edward. Edward is only a few months old. He starts giggling when he sees me. "Hi Mabel, how are you?"

"Hello Wren, I'm fine thanks. Are your parents in?"

"Yes they're just in the kitchen."

"Great, can you hold Edward for me while I talk to them?'

"Sure."

I take the baby as Oscar and and Emma walk past me. They are probably heading to Miracle and Joshua's room. I go to mine. I see Addie sitting on her bed with her phone. "Hey, what are you doing?"

"I'm googling this writing competition that I have been entered in."

"Hey. Well, I was wondering is you could take Edward from me, you are always better with him after all."

"Fine, just hand him to me."

I hand him over. She starts to coo with him. "Hey Eddie. Hi, it's your cousin Addie. Let's go downstairs."

She leaves the room and I sit back down on the bed. I still can't believe she had a crush.
