Chapter II
Sunlight began to stream through my window. I slowly rose and stretched my arms. Waking up this early was only natural for me after plenty of practice with no alarm clock or watch. My typical blank, faraway look was already on my face as I got out of bed, expecting another day of beatings and yelling from my parents, and bullying at school. Then, I remembered something, something that made my expressionless face gleam with happiness. Both my parents were dead. I started laughing to myself, how could I have forgotten?
I got up, changed into some clothes, and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my hair and washed my face, then went out into the kitchen to get a bowl of cereal.
My parents body's lay on the ground, their mangled faces and heads splattered on the kitchen floor. Flies whizzed around them, attracted by the nauseating scent of decay. With the stench so strong, It was hard for me to keep my cereal down. But I managed anyway. After finishing, I reached under the sink and pulled out a pair of rubber gloves. I opened the door and went outside, making sure I could somewhat quickly reach the dumpster. I left the door open when I went inside, put the gloves on, and then knelt down above my mother's body. I reached my hands under her shoulders and lifted. She wasn't extremely heavy, but she certainly wasn't easy to carry, especially for someone of my size and strength. When I lifted her, the rotting flesh and guts based around her demolished head, and severed veins and arteries squirted blood on my face and arms. I pulled her out the door backwards and nearly tripped down the stairs leading into the trailer. I dragged her as fast as I could, through the dirt, rocks, and patches of grass. Streams of blood were squirting, flesh and guts were falling from the base of the neck, when blood shot into my left eye. It burned excruciatingly and I was blinded for a matter of seconds. It felt like thick, warm saltwater that reddened your vision. My back hit the dumpster and I fell over, holding my eye, trying to wipe out the blood. My left eye was still blurry, but the pain was fading, so I reached down and used all my strength to hoist her up and into the dumpster.
I ran back to the trailer and began flushing my eye out with water in the bathroom sink. My eye was still sore, and my vision still blurry, but I could deal with it, I've dealt with much worse.
I knew with how hard it was to carry my mother, it would be nearly impossible for me to carry my father. So I decided to leave him be, it's not like I would even be here for the rest of the day; someone was bound to find the body in the dumpster soon anyway. I suppose I just couldn't stand the stench of two bodies.
It was a school day, but I wasn't planning on going on time, I was going to wait until lunch break. There was something I had to do, and I had a plan.
As lunch began approaching, I washed the blood off myself, and put my shirt back on; it'd been soaking in cold water, which removes the blood from clothes. I packed my backpack with all the non-perishable food I could find around the house, along with my medical supplies, and anything of importance to me. I put on my zip-up hoodie, and put the hood up. I made myself a decent sized lunch and ate it in no hurry. Before I headed out, I went into my room and grabbed the bat, then walked out the door.
I took the slightly longer route to school, so it would lead me around to the back parking lot of the school. When I arrived, I saw who I was looking for; Daniel. He hung out with his 'friends' back there and did stuff they weren't supposed to be doing; today it looked like Daniel had brought a lighter into school, and they were smoking something. A drift of air carried the scent to my hiding spot behind a vehicle, and it was unmistakably marijuana. Where he got it, I don't know, but that didn't matter, not right now anyway.
My small but able body moved swiftly and silently across the parking lot, allowing me to hide behind smaller obstacles, and enabling me to get even closer to them. He was with only two other guys this time, which would make this whole thing easier. I approached the final car, putting me some five feet from them. I held the bat steady, and prepared, I was ready for this. And I'd been waiting a long time.
I charged out from behind the car with the bat swinging down, their backs were facing away from me towards the wall, so they barely had time to turn around before the bat came in contact with the first across the side of the head, knocking him unconscious from the blow to his temple. His body knocked into Daniel's, making him stumble and trip on his sagging jeans, I heard him scream and gag but I temporarily ignored him, he was down anyway. The one on the left had more time to react, he turned around to try to grab the bat and I brought it down on his hands, breaking his wrists. He screamed and fell to his knees, attempting to comfort his wrists and hands; while he was down I brought the end of the bat down over my head and smashed his face into the ground. The back of his skull cracked slightly, he'd have a coma or concussion at least. I turned to see Daniel on the ground gagging and reaching his hands down his throat. I gave him a decent whack with the bat to knock him out, I had other plans for him. I reached my fingers down his throat and felt a cylindrical object, I reached a little farther and grabbed it out, it was the joint he had been smoking, he had inhaled it in surprise and gagged on it, what luck. I heard a groan and saw the first one I hit begin to stand, he was using the wall to steady himself. I brought the bat around to the side and let out a load of force that smashed his face and head into the rough surface of the wall, his skull was cracked and was beginning to bleed. For one final measure of superiority, I grabbed him by the back of his head and smashed his face into the wall repeatedly. Blood squirted on my hand and I dragged his face across the wall long and hard, distorting it beyond recognition. I gave the other a good hard rap against his temple just to ensure death.
I took off my backpack and pulled out one of the many big, heavy duty, black garbage bags that I had packed, I also took Daniel's lighter and marijuana and tossed them in my bag, never know when I might need them. I began to open the bag, it should be able to fit Daniel. I picked up his feet and began to slide them into the bag, I slowly worked the bag up around him and finally got his head in, I then tied the top with a knot.
I put my backpack back on and held my bat over my shoulder, and began to drag the bag across the parking lot, when all of a sudden, the lunch bell rang to come inside. I knew the duties would be around the building in a minute to check for kids, so I had to hurry. Not knowing what to do with the body bag, I went for the closest car and tried the trunk; locked. Locked. Locked. Then finally one slid open, and I tossed the bag into the trunk quickly, then closed it and ran to the front door and opened it up. I quickly broke into the piece of plastic under the steering wheel, then found the two red wires and began peeling back the outer coating with the pliers from my pocket knife. I crossed the wires and taped them with some tape from my pack. I then found the brown wire and peeled it as well. I touched the brown wire to the red ones and the car started. I jumped in and pulled the door closed, then drove off. I'm technically a little more then a year under the state driving age, but I had learned to drive already when I've had to drive my drunk parents home from a bar, or other similar situations. I looked into my rear-view mirror to see the duty walk around the corner of the school, and then gag and pass out at seeing the two students bodies.
I needed to drive somewhere people wouldn't find me, maybe a place I could use as a hiding spot for a while, a place to spend the night in. I pondered this for a moment and realized I could use the abandoned theatre, it would be perfect.
I took the next turn leading to the theatre. I pulled into it's parking lot and disconnected the red wires, but made them easy to reconnect in case of an emergency getaway. I got out of the car and put my backpack on, also grabbing my bat; and went around to the back of it and popped open the trunk. I grabbed the knot of the bag and dragged it out. I closed the lid and made my way to the back of the theatre. I neatly ripped open the plastic on one of the pre-shattered windows, and made my way inside, I half carried-half dragged Daniel through the window, Then made sure I had all my stuff. I re-taped the window plastic shut, and sat down to relax.
A large smile came across my face as I began to fully realize my new life. It was going to be interesting, and I couldn't wait to get this show started.
