Chapter IV

After embracing for a matter of long, warm seconds, we let go of each other and just kind of looked around, like we were avoiding what had just happened. I think she felt the same feeling as me though. I showed her the janitors closet where I had stashed Daniel's body, and she seemed happy that he was dead, he had most likely bullied on her in the past as well. We sat down and ate our own fair helping of food, and decided that going to sleep would be a good idea, it must have been near eleven. I walked over to the power panel and shut off the lights, making it almost pitch black.

The night before I had just slept sitting up against the wall, and I felt a bit bad that I didn't have a comfortable place for her to sleep. But she pulled out a small blanket that she had wrapped up and put in her bag. She spread it own on the floor and gestured for me to lay down on it, I got down on it's soft surface, and she lay down on the opposite side of it, and before we knew it. We were fast asleep.

I woke up very early in the morning, and immediately noticed something different, Jennifer had pulled close to me and rested her head on my chest, her body was sideways against mine. She had her arm across my center, and her leg laying sideways over mine. I was filled with the same warm feeling I had experienced only hours ago, and I liked it. This time it wasn't even questionable, this feeling was for sure. Love.

Noticing she was still fast asleep, I didn't stir except to move my arm around her back to hold her close. And with that, I closed my eyes and drifted off again, feeling... warm, and very content.

I got up that morning to an even more severe burning pain in my left eye, I ran to my water bottle and unscrewed it, flushing out my eye as much as I could. The burning decreased but it was still slight, and the vision remained the least bit blurry, not hardly enough to notice though. "Are you all right?" Jennifer questioned, obviously concerned for me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But that's the second time thats happened now, it was even worse today then last time" I replied

"Oh, I'm sorry, you should let me look at it," she walked over to me and knelt down beside me, she spread open my eye with her fingers and looked it over for a short while before saying, "Well it looks pretty bloodshot, but thats about all I can see".

"Oh ok," I replied, "how long have you been up?" I asked her.

"Not long, maybe ten minutes at most"

"Ah, I see." I decided not to bring up last night, as it might be a slightly embarrassing subject.

I went into my bag and pulled out a cheap protein bar and ate it, so I could get some food in my stomach before the day got going. Not having any targets planned for the day, we figured we would brainstorm. I sat down next to her on the blanket and thought. It didn't take long. Jen almost immediately told me about one of her friends, and how they supported each other because they both lived abusive lives. The girls name was Jazmine. Her slightly older, half-brother abused her constantly, whether it was cutting her, or burning her, or using her for some sadistic painful experiment. He was about sixteen or so, not too hard of a target. She lived near where Jennifer did, so it wouldn't take too long to get there, and with that neighborhood not being as busy as I originally thought, we could go during the daytime. She only lived with her mother, who wouldn't take long to remove from the picture, making this whole situation easier. We figured we might as well get going early, so we took no time in getting ready and leaving. Instead of just taking some of our stuff, we figured we'd just put on our backpacks and take everything, because it would be more convenient that way. But obviously we didn't take the completely unnecessary things That would just be a waste of effort to carry it all.
