I woke up with water splashing my face. I shot up, gasping for air, only to see Molly standing above me with a now empty pitcher.

"Rise and shine." She said in a fake sweet voice. I looked at her with narrowed eyes and stood up.

"God, what time is it?" I asked as I whipped my hair out of my face.

"Five in the morning." She said. She walked over to the enteric of the cell and unlocked it, opening it up for me. I walked out of the cell and she led me up to a room with hundreds of portals. "Come on. Through here." She motioned towards a portal that had a sign that said NEW YORK INSTITUTE and walked me through.

When we transferred through the portal, I appeared in a dimly lit room filled with screens. Only a few people were awake and walking around. Molly walked me up to a man with blonde hair.

"Mr. Starkweather." Molly said. The man turned around and stuck out his hand.

"Hello. You must be that Clave Official, am I right?" He asked with a smile.

"Yes, sir. And this is Alice Youngdale. She is here to offer protection for Clairissa Fairchild." Molly said.

"That's great. Um... Alice, please go to the training room where you will begin your morning session." The man, Hodge, said. I turned my back to Molly and jingled my hands. She sighed and uncuffed me. I rubbed my hand around my wrist and walked towards the room Hodge told me to go to.

I walked through the open, glass doors and saw a guy who looked about my age sparring. He had dark, ebony hair and was about half a foot taller than me. He dropped the long pole he was using and walked over to a punching bag and began hitting it.

I walked over to the pole that he dropped and began sparring. I saw a dummy in the corner and drew an animation rune on it. It sprung to life and began to attack me. I rolled away from it and hit it with the pole. It grabbed the pole and flipped me over, landing me on my back. As it lunged for me, I kicked it with both of my feet I'm the stomach, doing a flip and landing on my feet. The dummy fell to the ground when I pulled out my stele and it didn't move again.

"I'd say nice moves, but I don't compliment criminals." A voice said. I turned around and saw the dark haired guy standing there with his arms crossed.

"Who put a stick up your ass?" I asked rudely. He narrowed his eyes at me and looked behind me. I turned and saw a girl who looked like him walk in.

"Oh my god." The girl stopped when she saw me." Is that-?"

"Yep." The boy said with a blunt voice. The girl smiled and walked up to me, twirling me around.

"You look even better than you sound!" She said. I could feel the boy roll his eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm Isabelle, Izzy, Iz. Whatever you want to call me. And that's my brother. Alec."

"Alice." I said. She smiled even wider at me. Alec scoffed and left the room. "What's wrong with him?"

"Just ignore him. That's how he always is." She said.

"Izzy. Did you put my leather jacket in the washer again? I told you-" A boy with blond hair walked in and stopped when he saw me. "Damn." He mumbled.

"Alec must've put it in there." Izzy said, grinning between me and the guy. "I'll go talk to him, Jace." She sauntered out if the room, leaving me and 'Jace' alone.

"I'll go assuming you know who I am?" I asked. He nodded and walked around me as if he were memorizing what I looked like.

"Obviously. You're hotter in person." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I've heard a bit about you, Jace Wayland. And everything I heard about you was true. Even more true in person, actually." I said. He grinned and stepped closer.

"And what'd you hear about me?"

"I heard that you're a cocky ass hole. I thought they were just joking, but turns out, you're even worse in person." I said. He chuckled and stepped away. "Anyways, I hear you have Clary Fairchild in your possession?"

"Indeed we do." He said. "Come with me." I followed him through the halls of the Institute where we finally came to the infirmary. Alec had decided to tag along with us, much to my dismay.

"Mundane shouldn't be here." Alec announced. I rolled my eyes and allowed them all to bicker among themselves. I couldn't say much about this bunch, but I could say that this was going to be a very long assignment.
