We stayed in the kitchen for a while. It was hard to talk with pounding music coming from the other room, and the fact that drunken people came in screaming from time to time. Eventually I decided to jump up to sit on the counter to make it more comfortable. But instead I slumped right down into the sink.
"How drunk are you?" Niall laughed.
"Ugh, I can't get up." I groaned and had to admit to myself that what I was doing cannot have looked graceful.
"Here." He put down his cup on the counter and walked over to me. He placed his hands on my waist and lifted me up from the sink. I thanked him before settling on the kitchen counter. The one made out of wood.
"So why are you having a party tonight anyway? Didn't you guys have one a couple of weeks ago?"
"We did. Normally we don't have parties this often. But it's Liam's birthday."
"Liam?" I frowned.
"Payne. Brown haired guy, pretty tall, wears a leather jacket most of the time. Oh, and he's British."
"Of course he is." I mumbled under my breath before taking another sip on my drink.
Then I heard a familiar voice coming closer to the kitchen. I turned my gaze towards the doorframe and there he was... my curly, British friend.
"Sam!" He exclaimed when he saw me. "Where have you been all night?"
I nodded towards Niall. "With this asshole."
Harry frowned a bit, and Niall grinned.
"I thought you couldn't stand the guy." Harry mumbled to me.
"I can't. But you see, we had a bet."
Then Niall approached us, holding out his hand.
"I don't think we've met. I'm Niall."
Harry hesitated for a moment before shaking his hand. "I don't think so either. Harry."
"Ah, you're British." Niall grinned. "Nice to have another one on board."
"Irish?" Harry questioned.
Niall nodded proudly and then his face lit up.
"Wait, aren't you the guy who applied to move in here?"
"I guess so." Harry said with a nervous laugh. "Are there any other's so far?"
"A few. But I think you've got a chance to become the chosen one for this semester. We Brits must stay together." Niall smirked.
"That's what I've been telling Sam as well, but she always tells me to pick Kappa Sigma." Harry said, turning to me.
"Oh really?" Niall asked, also turning his attention to me. "Maybe so she could have a reason to visit the other frat more often. I think someone's interested in a guy over there."
"First of all, I think Harry would like Kappa Sigma more because it seems to me that all the assholes lives here. And second of all, I am not interested in Jesse." I said, staring at Niall, who was still grinning at me.
"I never said his name."
Then he snatched my cup right out of my hand.
"Hey, I wasn't finished!"
He glanced at me.
"You just fell into the sink, I think you've had enough. Well, since you two obviously know each other, maybe Harry here could walk you home? I'd do it myself, but the night is almost over and I still haven't found a girl to hook up with."
