Chapter One

Isabella Marie Young

"I'll be back in August." I say to my mom, Renee.

"I'm going to miss you sweetie. Make sure to call me if you need anything." She says.

I grab my bag out of the trunk of her car and start walking to the door of my Uncle and Aunt's house. I ring the doorbell and wait for someone to answer.

"Bells, you're here!" Yells Leah, my cousin, hugging me.

"Hey Leah." I say hugging her back.

"I haven't seen you in ages." She says pulling me into the house.

"I know. I can't believe it's been 2 years." I say following her up the stairs.

I put my stuff in the guest room then walk into Leah's room.

"We have so much to talk about." Leah says.

"Alright you start." I say.

"Well Sam is thinking about going to college in August so I'll have to find a way to still see him."

"Well I decided not to go to college. I'm going to be working at the little shop around the corner. My mom knows the owner, so she agreed to let me work there so I can see how I like it." I say.

"That's cool I guess. I thought you really wanted to be a chef though." Leah says.

"I still do, but I don't know about leaving the state for college. I didn't get into Washington State, but I did get into the University of Hawaii." I say.

"Oh, that's really far." She says.

"Leah, i'm home." I hear Aunt Sue say from downstairs.

We walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. We see Aunt Sue putting up groceries from the store.

"Bella, you're here." Aunt Sue says coming to hug me.

"Hey Auntie." I say hugging her back. When she let's go I move back.

"I was just about to start making dinner, want to help." She asks us while washing her hands.

" Sure." Leah and I say at the same time. We look at each other and giggle a little.

"Wash your hands first. We are going to be making hamburgers." She says after she dries off her hands.

We quickly wash our hands and wait for the next instructions. About an hour later we finish making the burgers and set the table. I then notice that Seth and Uncle Harry aren't home.

"Where are Seth and Uncle Harry?" I ask Aunt Sue.

"They went fishing with Billy and Charlie. They should be back soon." She says and just on cue they walk in the house.

"You're just in time for dinner." Leah says sitting down at the table.

We all sit at the table and start eating. When i'm done I get up from the table and walk in the kitchen to wash my plate. I then hear the doorbell ring. I guess no one else heard it, because I didn't hear it open so I walk towards the door to see who it is.

"May I help you?" I ask the foreign man.

"I'm Sam. Is Leah here?" He asks.

'So this is Sam.' I think to myself.

"I'll go get her." I say leaving him at the door.

I walk into the dining area and walk towards Leah.

"Sam is here." I say.

She gives me a nod and gets up to see him. I hear muffled voices then they both walk into the dining room.

"Sam, this is my cousin Bella. Bella, this is Sam." She says.

I shake his hand it quickly pull it back because of his temperature.

"Are you okay? You're kinda feverish." I ask him.

"I'm fine." He says in a deep voice.

"Okay." I say.

I walk out of the dining room and upstairs to my room. I grab my phone off of the dresser and dial my mom's number.

"Bells?" I hear mom say.

"Hey mom. How are you and dad?" I ask her.

"We're fine. How are you and the family doing?" She asks.

"We are good."

"Ashley called and said that you can start tomorrow. Be there by 8." My mom says.

"Alright. I just called to check up on you. I love you." I say.

"I love you too, Bells. Bye." She says before she hangs up the phone.

I put on my sleep clothes then walk to the bathroom with my bathroom bag and some clothes. I take a brisk shower then brush my teeth. I put my hair into two braids so it won't be all messy in the morning then walk back into my room. After I put my stuff up, I get under the covers of my bed and drift to sleep.
