Chapter Two

"Hey, I'll see you after class?"

Tyler glanced down to Johnny, meeting his eyes for a moment then nodded. The younger man flashed a grin, did a one eighty in the middle of the hall, and switched to the other side of traffic. Instead of manuvering with the said traffic like everyone else had, it almost seemed like he had created his own flow of it while he moved on to his next class. Tyler found himself shaking his head, unable to help the smile that covered his lips, as he turned his attention to where he was walking.

'Only Johnny would have that kind of power...' He thought to himself as he readjusted the strap of his backpack.

Unfortunately, Johnny and him didn't have anymore classes together. They didn't even have homeroom, a study hall, or lunch together, which meant Tyler was going to be all by himself.

Hunt had offered to change his schedule so that they could have more than one class, but Fisher didn't want to seem pathetic to his best friend. Sure, Johnny wouldn't have even thought twice for changing his schedule, but to Tyler, it felt like he was showing a sign of weakness. And oh how he hated to seem weak in front of his partner.

The rest of the day seemed to drag on, and Tyler was honestly beginning to think that the torture of school was never going to end. Of course that wasn't true, and he knew this, but he couldn't help but exaggerate when it was becoming more and more obvious to him that this year was going to suck.

'And Johnny's probably made friends with everyone in all of his classes, and I'm just sitting here like a loner...'

Yeah, he was being a little overdramatic, but it was a habit he had when his pal wasn't at his side. He was actually sure he had some kind of depression, but he never bothered to look into it. Usually, as long as good ol' Johnny boy was at his side, the negative thoughts couldn't reach him. If they did, all Johnny had to do was ask a couple times what was bothering Tyler, and the older boy wouldn't help but crack open. Whenever that happened, the younger would become the wiser, and comfort his friend in any way possible.

All Tyler had to do was get through this last class, and he could go running off to his happy place. The class was already almost over anywa---

The bell finally rung, and Tyler didn't need to hear it twice as he immediately pulled his things off the desk. Unluckily, since he had still been in his seat, he had to wait for his classmates who had been hovering by the doorway to get out first before he could step into the hallway himself.

Just as he stepped out of the classroom though, he heard a voice he had been waiting for all day.

"Hey, beautiful."

His heart literally climbed into his throat as he quickly turned to find the owner of that very voice.

Blue eyes that seemed to turn into shimmering waters, no matter what cruddy lighting was around, immediately mesmerized  the darker ones. A playful smirk was tugging up the corner of Johnny's mouth, while he oh so casually was leaned up against the lockers.

As much as Tyler wanted to continue swooning over the very cliche movie moment, he forced himself to snap back to reality as he scolded lightly at his friend.

"People are going to think you're queer if you say things like that to me." Tyler said, glancing away from Johnny while he turned into the hallway traffic.

He didn't need to glance over his shoulder to know Johnny was following him.

A grin had broken across the younger man's face, but it suddenly became a surprised look as he tried to fall in step with Tyler.
