Derek's POV
I wanted to tell Sam everything that just happened but my phone started ringing and it was from the hunter organization, so I couldn't just ignore it.
"This is alpha Derek." I answered.
"There has been a lot of report of rogues near your area and we have moved into the woods nearby, tell your pack they are off limits. Whoever trespasses will be killed."
"Your giving me short notice here, Hunters. Our pack can handle the rogues."
"We've said what we had to goodbye Alpha." Click
Fuck. Those bastards hung up. I send a message to the pack so that everyone stays out of the outer woods that lead to the main road. Carter she left the pack she won't get the message.
"Sam the girl you just saw go after her and bring her to me. Don't ask questions I will explain later." I order. I need her to be okay. I drove her away if she dies because of me...I can't think about that I have to be strong. Sam will get her.
Carter's POV
Leave I did, or at least I tried to, I went back to my house to change clothes and start packing. I couldn't take much because I didn't have a car to travel with so I was going on foot. I thankfully had an old duffle bag around so I stuffed some food and clothes, zipped it up and was about to head to the door when there was a sudden knock. Shit who the fuck could that be it's not like I'm expecting anyone. What if it's him. Fuck no I can't handle that. Oh why couldn't my house have a convenient back door. The very inconvenient window it is. Thank goodness I had enough time to change into jeans and sneakers. Thankfully this window opened up to the woods and through the woods will be the road were I will be making my escape. I feel like I should mention again that I was a werewolf surrounded by other werewolves, but for some reason that decided to completely slip my mind, probably due to the whole shock of rejection bit. Since werewolves have amazing hearing guess who heard what I was doing and waiting for me outside my window, yep a werewolf, and not just any werewolf but the freaking beta.
"Beta what are you doing here?" I asked innocently. As if I didn't already know he was ordered to bring me back. I could feel it through the mark is yearning for me. It's suffocating.
"The alpha demands your presence. Why I do not know. He ordered me to bring you to him no matter what you say. So please don't fight and let's go back to the alpha." He pleaded in a strained sort of way like he knew I wouldn't be going easily. Well I can't blame him for being wary I mean the whole time I was looking around for some way of escape, since at any moment I was going to get cornered and trapped. Oh look a conveniently placed branch that had fallen from one of the nearby trees. It's not like I'm going to hit him with the stick it wouldn't even phase him. So I'm going to throw it at him to catch him off guard and run like hell. Hopefully I'll get far. Okay here goes nothing, I start walking slowly to the branch and as fast as I can bend down throw the branch at his face and start running like hell, to bad there's no time to look back at his surprised face. I haven't been sensing my wolf since the rejection incident, but finally she has come back from shock and heartbreak. She probably sensed that I'm seriously in need for her right now, time to shift while not stopping. Here's for first try's I call on my wolf and in human form I take a big leap and the transformation from human to wolf happened while I was leaping in midair and when I landed I was completely transformed and running faster than I ever could run in human form. I must admit to myself that was the coolest transformation that I've ever done, okay back to the dire situation I'm in at the moment. I look back to see that the beta was indeed following hardly affected by my surprise attack. Damn he's transforming to; my lead is going to be short lived with a heavily trained warrior after someone who loathes even the thought of training. Since I was looking back at the beta I was paying attention to what was in front of me, so I didn't notice the arrow heading for me until it was imbedded into my shoulder. I think everybody could already figure out that I'm not the best werewolf, even though I was struck with an arrow I think I would've been still able to run, but it was any regular arrow it was pure silver. The pain was unimaginable I was going down; I couldn't run anymore. I was either going to get captured by the beta that wanted to take me the alpha that rejected me or the one who shot the arrow and wanted me dead most likely. Each option did not sound good. My wolf was not in any way used to this kind of strain I never went to training to fight or withstand pain with the pack I was always a loner, and I guess this loner is going to get the same ending as a lone wolf. Oh no I'm changing back to human form my wolf isn't strong enough. Changing back was not as graceful as it was before, this time was tremendously brutal since the arrow that's in my shoulder shifter along with my body. I lay on the hard forest floor gasping in pain naked and afraid. The beta should have caught up with by now but he's just standing a few yards back growling at something behind me. Oh shit, I turn around to find some guy decked out in weapons and gear inching toward me. If I wasn't in so much pain and near death I would have commented about how freaking hot my killer was with piercing blue, chiseled jaw, and jet black hair that any girl would love to run their fingers through. Yea this definitely not the time Carter, you should be thinking about why the gorgeous guy wants to kill us not his looks. While I was having my internal battle with myself tall, dark, and handsome has already reached me and was kneeling in front of me examine me with a calculating eye. Then without warning he pulls out the arrow in my shoulder and throws it aside, headless to my scream of pain.
"What...do you w..ant from me?" I gasp out panting in pain.
"You're not supposed to be here wolf. This section of the woods is off limits to your pack." he speaks in a calm collected way as if he hadn't just critically injured someone.
"What? I didn't know about that...please don't kill me I'm not trying do anything wrong. I'm just trying to get away from my pack. Please."
"Get away? I've heard nothing of abuse of pack members from the Silver Claw pack. Why would you need to run away? Especially to a restricted area full of hunters that have been trained to kill on sight."
We have been talking but the whole time I've been on the ground with my head raised just enough to see his face. My hair is also covering the mark I was just given. Now I put all my strength into rising to my knees and moving my hair, not caring that I was revealing all my naked body to him.
"If you just got rejected from the person you were meant to spend the rest of our life with and he was the alpha of your pack wouldn't you want to escape too.
Snap, someone is coming, I looked to the source of the noise and didn't see the needle coming straight for my neck. I've got to learn to pay attention more. Then everything went black.
Tall, Dark, and Handsome's POV
Hmm the Alpha's mate, this is going to get really interesting. Revenge can really be sweet especially if it comes with a woman that looks like her. Little did I know how much I would come to regret such thoughts....
