Hajime x Mahiru

Hajime was spending some time with Mahiru, when he realized.. He had a major crush on her.

Just everything about her was adorable. She was so nice, and even though she could be bossy, she did it in a motherly way.

She hid in a shell, but once you got to know her she was really sweet.

But she didn't need love in her life, and Hajime knew that.

But he couldn't help it.

He wanted to ask Mahiru out, but he didn't know how she would react.

One day, he finally worked up the courage to ask her to go to dinner with him.

Mahiru realized something when she was taking a picture of Hajime.

She liked him.

A lot.

His kind smile, and how he always knew exactly the right thing to say.

At first she was in denial, but she had to let Hajime know about her feelings, even if he didn't like her back.

She decided to ask Hajime out sometime.

Hajime opened his cottage door and ran straight into Mahiru.

Literally. They both got knocked down.

"Oh! Mahiru I'm so sorry!" Hajime yelled.

"Me too! Sorry!" Mahiru replied.

Mahiru stood up and held out her hand to Hajime.

He grabbed her hand and she pulled him up.

"Thanks." Hajime said, smiling.

Mahiru smiled back.

"I'd like to ask you something." they both said in unison.

They both started laughing.

"Ok, you first!" Hajime said, still laughing.

Mahiru shook her head, smiling.

"No, you can go."

Hajime sighed. He knew how this was gonna go.

"Let's compromise. We'll say it at the same time." Hajime said.

"Ok," Mahiru replied, "One.. Two.. Three."

"I like you." they both said.

Mahiru's face went as red as her hair.

Hajime blushed a little.

"U-um.. Wanna go to dinner?" Hajime asked.

Mahiru blushed even deeper, and nodded.

They walked to the hotel for breakfast, something simple and nice.

They got their food (and Hajime got a big glass of orange juice) and sat down.

They ate in a nice silence, and when they were about to get up Mahiru whipped out her camera and..

Took a picture of Hajime.

Mahiru looked at it.

"Aww! You look adorable!" Mahiru said, showing Hajime the picture.

"Not as adorable as you." Hajime replied, grinning.

Mahiru leaned over and kissed Hajime on the cheek.

"Let's do this again." she said.

Hajime nodded and smiled.

They both walked to their cottages, thinking of each other.
