"I believe you Sheryl." Alec listened to the little fairy cry. It reminded him of how they first met. She was scared of him back then and now she's here to support him anyway she can. He's very grateful to have her as a friend, someone who looks after him and his mistakes.
Sheryl wiped away her tears and looked up at him. "For real? You mean it?" She stayed standing, trying to not cry anymore. Alec nodded his head and smiled, he placed her on his shoulder and stood up.
"Whenever your parents say yes, we'll leave out together!?" She asked again for confirmation. Once again, all he did was nod his head and smile, except it wasn't the same smile as before. It was a small one that hid a lie. He began walking forward on the gravel road to her house. He felt the need to be alone and have time to think to himself, yet he also felt she needed the same thing.
Ever since the war started, everyone's mood has certainly changed even after everything is getting better. For Alec? It's just the same for him too, but he feels the need to do something about this. Sheryl, his parents, everyone. He stopped in his tracks to think, confusing the fairy on his shoulder.
"What should I do?" he thought to himself, "I don't want any of this to continue any longer... and my parents isn't of any help of this." He had a serious look on his face, staring at the tiny rocks on the ground.
"Alec? Are you okay?" Sheryl flew down to look at him in the face. His expression still remaining the same, still deep in thought.
"Sheryl is always there for me and worries about me. Yet, I always make her feel that way. If I had never met her, she'd probably be more happier than to be sticking with me." His face grew a scared and confused look. He nodded slightly and started to walk at a slow pace.
Sheryl puffed her cheeks and ignored him. She flew back onto his shoulder and stood quiet. She looked around the familiar path and sighed standing up. The small shortcut they took as kids to each others house. She knew what he needed. Space.
"Hey.. you don't need to walk me home. I can do it myself.."
"Wait Sheryl! I.." Sheryl flew fast past him without turning back. He was pretty furious now, if only he hadn't said anything then all this wouldn't happen. He changed his direction heading to the main plaza now, hands in his black pants pocket. Such a mess. The surrounding mood became more cheerful, not for him anyways, but for the other elves, fairies, and other species around. He kept his head up and tried not to show any type of emotion. It sure was hard for him, he just wanted to scream in a pillow like a little girl, anyway to get this stress off him.
He suddenly felt a pair of hands on his shoulder, snapping him out of his daze, "Alec are you alright? You almost bumped into me."
"Oh, forgive me Russell." Alec apologized. Russell is tall and a bit tanned out compared to other elves. He's a little bit older then Alec and the leader of a group known as Black Fang Brotherhood. On top of that, Alec actually looks up to him since he is seen as the village leader by the majority of the village.
"Hey now, there's no need for that. What's up?" Russell reassured him.
"Well, I told my parents about the dream I have. Turns out they didn't support me on it at all, not to mention Sheryl just left me for some reason. So much have happened the past hour." The two began walking around the plaza now on the discussion.
"Took real gut to confess that y'know. Haha she probably left you cause you aren't a ladies' man." Russell laughed out.
Alec blushed with embarrassment and held his head down. "Oh shut up! It's hard to understand women these days. They're like the thorns on a rose, you can't touch them for all they do is make you bleed."
"That's very sweet yet cheesy. Work on the phrases. Anyway I have a little surprise for you anyway. Close your eyes." Russell smiled at the now confused boy. Alec closed his eyes and prepared himself, unsure of what he'll do.
Russell placed his hand in front of Alec's face as a blue aura emitted from it. Two black lines were implanted onto the young elf's face as he flinched from the small pain it caused. The aura faded and he removed his hand away, "Hehe, welcome to the team Alec, I know you've been wanting this for a long time, but as you are now, you deserve it. Keep your pride and strive for what you wish."
Alec opened his eyes quickly, it's his childhood dream come true! "I'm apart of Black Fang Brotherhood now? No way!"
"Yes way! Oh how perfect is is to see this moment come alive too." Russell rustled Alec's hair, starting to hearing the clapping of others around them.
"Alec listen, I know it's against your will, but try to meet me at the village gate at at twelve. Go rest up for now and don't be late alright." Russell pat his back before seeing him off another direction. Now Alec just couldn't wait now, he was just so happy. Such a huge mood change in a crazy day. He smiled and nodded his head, walking the direction to his home.
Oh how he just wanted to tell Sheryl about this, but she probably won't leave her house after what happened. His parents would probably think it's an excuse to go out on his fantasy dream. Such a mess. It's best to keep it all to himself at this point.
When he made it to the front door, he made an annoyed sigh and unlocked the door. "I'm back." He said with no emotion in his voice. He closed the door back and walked no where but to his room, not worried where his parents are.
Alec opened the door to his room then locked it back upon entering. He belly flopped on his bed and relaxed himself. So much was on his mind that it started to stressed him out more.
"Haha she probably left you cause you aren't a ladies' man."
Is that really the type of guys, women like now a days? If so, then he had no luck getting one after all. Sucks to be him right now. Alec buried his face into his pillow and began to fall asleep. If only he had someone he can talk to that'll listen to his rants and nonsense, he'd be really calmed down and more upbeat.
