16-25-30. I twisted the lock on my locker and pushed on the latch. Swinging the door open, I pulled out the books I would need for my homework tonight. AP Bio, AP Calc, AP Psych, I went through the list in my head.

"T.G.I.F, am I right babe?" I looked over my shoulder and smiled at my best friend, Lucy.

"Yeah, I'm so ready for the weekend." I say to her, giving her a side hug.

"You excited for tonight?" She asks, grinning devilishly. I nodded, my cheeks flushing.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I ask, and swing the door to my locker closed. "It's not every day you celebrate your three-year anniversary with your boyfriend."

"I know! I'm so happy for you guys!" She's jumping up and down, blonde hair bouncing and swinging this way and that. I laugh at her and check my phone. There was a text from Marcus.

So excited for tonight <3. I smiled at that and slid it back into my pocket.

"How are you and Jason doing?" I ask Lucy, and she shoots me a wide smile

"I forgot to tell you!" She holds up her hand, "Look!" I didn't need to look long to realize that there was a promise ring on her right hand. I squealed and pulled her into a tight hug.

"That's so awesome!" I say to her excitedly. "When did he give it to you?"

"Last night after we got back from nationals!" Lucy's beaming so hard that her dimples are deeper than usual.

"What a great way to celebrate a win." I chuckle as we walk out the school doors to the student parking lot. I was happy that coach let me cancel cheer practice today, after the week I've had with my AP tests and the national cheer competition, I needed a break.

"So what are you guys doing tonight?" She asks, resting her arm on the roof of my car.

"We're going out to dinner, Marcus made reservations at that new Italian place, and after that we're going to the art museum." I smile, just thinking about tonight was making me happy.

"That's such a perfect date." She says, and I open my mouth to respond but that's when I feel two strong arms wrap around my waist and lift me into the air. I squeal with happiness and turn to Marcus after he puts my feet on the ground. I throw my arms around his neck and kiss him.

"Hey you." He says, putting his forehead against mine.

"Hey," I say dreamily.

"Ew." Lucy says, making fun of us.

"Luce please." I laugh, "You and Jason do that all the time."

"I know but it's gross when other people do it." She giggles and I sigh.

"You ready to go home?" I ask her. We lived in the same neighborhood, which probably contributed to our being best friends.

"Yeah let's go." She says, and we start for the parking lot.

"See you tonight, babe." Marcus says, winking at me.

"I have a problem," I tell Lucy as we get to the car. "I have no idea what I'm wearing tonight."
