It had been two years since the asylum burned down. Most of the patients were relocated to different hospitals, while some were allowed to go back to day-to-day lives. June was one of them.

Studying as a nurse, she now lived in a simple home. She lives alone, but enjoys the solitude, an incredible adjustment from being surrounded by patients and bombarded by the voices of the deceased. But all of that had stopped now. She was normal, or as normal as June Arber could ever be.

Humming in the kitchen as she flipped the pancakes currently cooking in the pan, she was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. She sighed, turned off the stove and wiped her hands on her apron. She muttered under her breath and made her way to the front door. Opening it, she was met with green eyes and freckles, and they both smiled as if no time had passed.

"Hey June."
