Jay/Luke
After Charlotte left the bar, I decided to have another beer before deciding to walk back to the hotel we were staying in. I have no idea how the lads are going to feel about me going off on my own and meeting a gorgeous girl on our first night back here in New York. When I get to our room, I find all 4 of them watching the football on tv. The first to notice me was Siva. He said "Hey mate, where did you run off to?" "Just went out for a drink, trying to find which bar was the best in this area." This suddenly gets Tom's attention. "Any luck with that?" I somehow need to tell them about Charlotte. "Yeah, I found one. And I met a girl there." Max looks up from the game and says "Did you now, what's she like?" What's Charlotte like? "her name is Charlotte. She's studying arts at NYU. She's smart and she's beautiful. She has these dark mesmorizing eyes, that sparkle every time she smiles." Before I can continue talking about her, Nathan smiles at me before saying "way to go mate! It's been a while since you met a decent girl." I'm not sure how they're going to react to this but I say it anyway. "Yeah, she seems great. Except there's one problem." All 4 lads suddenly looked my way again with questioning looks on their faces. "She doesn't know who I really am. I told her that my name was Luke" Siva gives me a concerned look and says "why? I thought you said she was a nice girl, why would you lie to her?" I had a feeling that that question would come up so I say "honestly, I'm sick of all the girls holding interest in me just because of who I am. Charlotte doesn't know and I want to get to know a girl without my career getting in the way." Max then laughs and says "Well I think its brilliant, you should go for it! What's the worst that could happen?" Tom agrees with him. Nathan just says "Well we're going to be in New York more now, so do what you want," and then goes back to watching the football. Max and Tom join him but Siva somehow still isn't convinced. He follows me to the room and says "Jay, do you have a plan?" "What do you mean?" I ask. "I mean, what are you going to do when she finds out the truth? Don't you think she's going to be upset when she finds out that you lied to her?" Siva the gentleman does have a point. I know he's right though too. Sighing, I ask him "so what do you think I should do?" "Tell her the truth, Call her now and just tell her the truth." I think about it for a while before pulling out the bar napkin from my pocket that has her number on it. Siva pats me on the back and says "Do it, mate. You won't regret it mate trust me." With that, he walks out of the room, leaving me all alone to call Charlotte.
I dial her number and as the phone rings I start to feel nervous. I don't want to do this, but Siva is right. If I don't tell her now, it could be worse for everyone when she finds out the truth. The phone continues ringing and as it's just about to go to voicemail, she answers it. Hearing her voice I forget the main reason why I called her. I blurt out,, "Hello Charlotte, it's J-Luke, from the bar?" She sounds surprised when she says "Oh hey Luke! I didn't think you were going to call me" Why would she think I wouldn't call her? "Well this is me, calling you." God, what the hell am I saying?! I need to make this less awkward before she thinks I'm a fool. "Are you doing anything tomorrow night? I'd love to see you again." She doesn't answer right away. She's going to blow me off, I can tell. "That would be nice" That's all she says but its also all I need to hear. We agree on a time and place and after I hang up, I walk back into the room where all the lads are still sitting. Siva looks up and asks, "What did she say?" That's when I realised and remembered that I still haven't told her the truth like I was supposed to. "I didn't tell her. But we have a date tomorrow so I'll tell her then." When I say that though, I know I'm not really going to tell her, I can't. I just can't.
Tell me what you think guys, feedback would be good :) vicky xoxo
