Night and day

Dark and cold,

Someone takes hold

Not in control anymore,

I cannot even see out the door.

I trust in something not my own,

But they leave me all alone

Helpless and desperate I cry out,

Wondering if someone can hear my shout.

Whispers and echoes fade into silence,

I'm left in the distance

The choice to give up and let go,

Or to stay strong and say no.

But then, someone offers a deal,

It seems so unreal

A promise to walk in sight,

To leave the darkness and be in light.

I don't become broken and set apart,

I am made new and receive a clean heart

Light breaks through now all can see,

The darkness is gone within me.

Love shadows upon me,

Remembering the price He paid fully

Forgetful I am not,

Knowing of what such darkness brought.

Blessed is the one who brings the morning light,

And helps me out of my darkest nights

May His name be lifted high,

And all may know His sacrifice.
