The final bell rang, and all the students rushed out the door, racing to their houses. I observe everyone as I walk to my motorcycle.
They're all so happy.
I frown, and shake away my thoughts. As I approach my motorcycle, I notice a figure leaning against it.
I squint my eyes, and notice Xavier with his hands in his pockets, looking at something in the distance.
Grumbling, I stand next to him, waiting for him to turn his attention to me. I copy him, looking at the trees, and folding my arms.
"When are you free?" He says in a harsh tone, still starting off somewhere.
"Why?" I ask warily.
Xavier huffs, and turns his body towards me, still leaning on my motorcycle. "We have a project, remember?"
I narrow my eyes at his bitter tone, "I won't be free for a while." I simply state.
He rolls his eyes, "Just say a fucking time."
I don't reply for a while, trying to figure it out myself. I'm still new in this town, without any money, and I still need to know where my first match is.
"Are you going to answer, or what?", I narrow my eyes again.
"In a few months." I finally reply.
Xavier scoffs at me, "I'm not doing this on my own."
"Well, I'm busy for a while." I retort.
"I have a life too you know?" He sasses.
I sigh, and look over towards his direction, "What's the project anyways? She didn't tell me." I ask.
"We have to do a bunch of community service shit, and then write an essay on our thoughts and blah blah blah." Xavier explains, and makes a talking gesture with his hand.
I groan internally, "How about I do whatever I can on my own time, and write an essay on tha-"
"Nope." He cuts me off, "She'll fail us if we don't work together."
"Seriously?" I raise an eyebrow.
Xavier just nods his head once, and reaches into his pocket pulling out a phone, "Just give me your number so we can work this out later. I have places to be, people to see." He rolls his eyes again.
"Do you ever say anything politely? You're always demanding, and I've only been here for a day." I scoff at him.
"Just put your fucking number in my phone." He snaps, mumbling profanities soon after.
I obligate, and the second I was done, Xavier snatched his phone back, and walked off to his motorcycle across the parking lot.
"I'll text you or whatever." He shouts over his shoulder. I don't reply, and I swing my leg over my bike.
Today has been a long day.

"You got the job." The lady smiles at me, and hands back my resumes.
I just nod my head, "When can I start?"
"How does tomorrow sound?" Her smile somehow shines brighter.
I nod once more, "Okay." She smiles again at me, and the line of my lips thin.
A bit of awkwardness hangs in the air, and I decide to dismiss myself from her office. Standing up, I walk towards the door and exit, closing the door behind me.
