Scott McCall was debating what was more confusing.
It was quite a shock when Theo kissed Addy. It was more shocking when she kissed him back. She pulled away a second later. Scott figured she realized it wasn't Liam kissing her. At least, he hoped that was the case.
Scott knew Addy was having a panic attack and that they needed to do something about it. He just didn't think Theo would kiss her. It had worked, though. Her breathing was back to normal, and she looked fine over all. Her scent said otherwise.
Addy smelled of anxiety and fear. She was scared Liam would get mad at her, even if it really wasn't her fault. In fact, if he had stayed a few seconds, he would have seen how bad of shape she really was. He could have been the one to kiss her, not Theo. Addison wasn't going to lie; he was a good kisser. Then again, she could only compare to Liam, who would always be number one.
"Wh-why'd you do that?" she breathed out as Scott gave her a hand up.
"You needed to get your breathing back to normal. It was the first thing I thought of," Theo explained, a hint of a smirk on his face. It would have been obvious to tell that he enjoyed himself if the attention and concern wasn't focused on Addy.
"Oh," Addy mumbled. It was weird that the first thing he thought of was to kiss her. It made her wonder if maybe Theo wanted to kiss her, not just to try to help. She was hoping that wasn't the case. It wasn't Twilight. There was no love triangle: just Liam and Addy. Though, she had questioned it once or twice before when Liam and Hayden talked.
"Where's Hayden?" Addy panicked. The Doctors left, which meant one of two things: they were scared off, or they had done what they needed to do. It was most likely the latter considering the small group of supernatural creatures could barely take them on.
Addison followed the true alpha to where Liam and Hayden were. It didn't look good. Whatever they had done was slowly taking its effect on the young girl. Liam held her in his arms. She needed all the comfort she could get.
He stood up from his spot as he saw Addy, who was quickly embraced in a hug. Liam sniffled into her neck, enjoying the comforting feel of warmth she always provided. He reluctantly pulled away from the embrace and looked to the others. "I saw the needle go in, and her eyes just filled up with m-mercury. They turned completely silver."
"She looks okay," Theo piped up. Hayden did not look okay. Her skin had paled, and it wasn't hard to tell she felt weak. The only thing holding her up was the support the wall gave. "Maybe she'll heal."
"Or maybe she won't," Addy snapped. She didn't want her friend to die. She didn't want anyone to die. There had been far too many kids who lost their lives already. The three gave her a look. It wasn't the best time to think like a pessimist, but Addy thought differently. It wasn't often that she thought like that - they guessed it was because she too had been killed by the dread doctors once already.
"Maybe something's happening to her on the inside," Liam guessed. The grip he had on Addy's hand was keeping him together. He already lost the love of his life once. He didn't want to lose a close friend too. He had no idea what had just happened to her minutes ago - or who had helped her. He didn't need to know either.
"Get them to the animal clinic. I'll meet you there," Scott instructed. He ran out of Sinema while the four slowly helped Hayden to Theo's truck. Liam sat in the back with her while Addy sat in the front.
Addison winced every time Hayden did. She had no idea what the poor girl was going through. She had died instantly when the Dread Doctors stuck her with a needle. The memory itself sucked, and she tried not to think about it. It was hard considering that Hayden was currently going through the same thing at a much slower pace.
