Grace’s POV

I got back to my room feeling like I was on cloud nine. For the first time on my life I felt like one of those teenage girls in the movies that you just want to smack in the face because no one should be that peppy. I didn’t like him or anything though… definitely not. I quickly changed into sweats and was planning on watching paper view movies all night, when I heard a knock on the door. I rushed over and peered into the little peephole only to see another eye peering back at me. I hesitantly opened the door only to have Louis barge into my room like he owned the place.

“Um, come on in” I muttered before shutting the door.

“Get changed into something decent because we’re going out to dinner” he said, ignoring my comment.

“What? I’m here all night, I have no idea what you’re talking about” I replied back quickly.

“Liam’s doing a twitcam, Zayn fell asleep, Harry had some emergency meeting he had to go to or something, and I have absolutely no clue what Niall is doing, something involving food, so that means you are my only option babe” he said as he threw some clothes at me.

“Lou on any other night I’d love to go out with you, but it’s been a really long day and I’m exhausted” I said back, flopping down on the ridiculously comfortable bed.

“Oh cut the crap; you have no choice. You have to do whatever I tell you, and I’m telling you to get your ass up and get changed”. I stared at him; trying to get a sense of how good my chances were of getting out of this. Judging by the sassy look he gave me I knew they were slim, Louis struck me as the type of person who would not back down. I huffed as I got up from the bed and snatched some clothes out of my suitcase. Louis gave me an approving smirk and I knew it was going to be a long night.

“By the way; my girlfriend Eleanor is joining us” he said casually as I studied the menu at the pizzeria we had chosen.

“What?” I said back startled as he continued to examine the menu.

“Yeah, she’s in town too and I invited her to come. Did you think it would just be me and you? Please, I’m far too important to be dining by myself with a peasant” he snapped back. I rolled my eyes and gave him a light kick under the table while he smiled at me. Without warning, Louis’ attention focused on a point behind me and he gave the largest smile I had ever seen. I turned back to see a stunning girl making her way over to our table. Eleanor was one of those people who was just perfect. She had the perfect hair, the perfect skin, the perfect smile, the perfect body, the perfect clothes, and, of course, the perfect boyfriend. She had every right to be a snotty, entitled, bitch but she wasn’t. Eleanor was one of the nicest people you would ever meet, and you she was grateful for all the perfectness that had been bestowed upon her.

Louis hopped up from the table to give her a quick kiss, before pulling out her chair for her. “El, this is Grace. She’s the new intern I was telling you about” he said, gesturing to me before taking his seat.

“So this is the one Harry will not shut up about” she said with a laugh before enveloping me in a hug. I gave a small smile in return as I felt the blush creep up into my cheeks.

“She’s the one. Seriously though, if he doesn’t hush up I’m going to have to smack him” Louis replied with a smile, as he watched my reaction to his words. At this point I was most likely the color of a tomato and my tongue seemed to have stopped working.

“Louis, stop harassing the poor girl. Now let’s order something, I’m starved” Eleanor said, resting a hand reassuringly on my shoulder.

Dinner went by smoothly and I found the more Eleanor talked, the more I liked her. She and I were very similar and I got the sense that we would become fast friends. She was also one of the funniest people I had ever met, and I very quickly understood why Louis was so fond of her.

“Grace we have to hang out sometime without Louis! You’re one of the coolest people I have ever met” she giggled, as she wrapped an arm around me.

“Absolutely!” I squealed back.

“No! You can’t have a party without the life of the party! Stop trying to steal my girlfriend” Louis protested, separating our arms from each other. I should probably mention that at this point we had each downed a few of those fruity drinks and were not in our right minds. “We should go on a double date!” Eleanor enthused, raising a drunken fist in the air. I quickly grabbed it and brought it back down to the table.

“Eleanor you silly billy, I don’t have a boyfriend… unfortunately” I muttered as I took another sip of my drink.

“Well you would go with Harry! Duh! You two are like the cutest thing ever! Almost as cute as Lou and I” she enthused shooting Louis a loving look.

“No one would is as cute as us babe” Louis said back as he kissed her on the cheek.

“Oh and your couple name can be Hace!” she said, turning her attention back to me.

“Or Garry” Louis said back with an amused smirk. Eleanor furrowed her eyebrows as she pondered that.

“You all are on something, Harry doesn’t like me! We’re just friends, you all need to cut it out with that stuff, I’m not that great” I said with a smile, trying to hide the disappointment in my voice. Eleanor put a hand over my mouth and gave me a furious look.

“You are beautiful and amazing and perfect and you have pretty hair and Harry would be lucky to have you. Not to mention he’s head over heels”.

“She’s right Grace. I’m his best friend in the entire world; I know more about him than anyone else, and trust me when I say he has a massive crush on you. Just don’t tell him I said that” Louis said with a laugh.

“Really?” I asked dubiously.

“Yes! In fact, I’m not letting you waste another moment! Get off your ass and go get your man!” Eleanor shouted. She hopped out of her chair and grabbed my ear, pulling me out of the restaurant as I tried to protest.

“Shut up! Now listen to me; if you don’t do this you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. Now fly away little bird!” Eleanor shoved me down the street and pranced back into the restaurant.

I walked around for about twenty minutes, trying to clear my head and decide what to do. Well actually I sorta pranced through the streets, singing Ed Sheeran songs, hugging random strangers, and chasing pigeons around. It was a very productive night. The whole time though, I was thinking about my relationship with Harry. Yes I had only known him for a few weeks, but there was something there, something I couldn’t explain. It provoked a curiosity in me and I was desperate to find out what would happen if I gave into my temptations. I would probably lose my job and suffer all sorts of wrath at the hands of crazy fans, but there was also the opportunity to experience something completely amazing.

After I made up my mind, I slowly made my way back to the hotel, but not before dancing on a telephone pole and giving a homeless man all the money I had. I should not be allowed to drink. I rushed up to Harry’s room, like a little kid on Christmas, but what I saw when I got there made my stomach drop.

Coming from the other side of the hallway was Harry giggling like a little schoolgirl holding the hand of the woman who would just not go the hell away.

Caroline Flack.
