Harry’s POV
The lads and I sat in the windowless room waiting for instruction. It was a pretty standard day for us, we would be briefed on what the week looked like and informed on what we could and couldn’t do.
I sat listening to Coldplay and trying my hardest to zone out. I had been in a rut lately and I wasn’t entirely sure how to get out of it. I felt as though all the excitement had been taken out of life and no matter what I did I couldn’t get it back. Don’t get me wrong, I was incredibly grateful for the opportunities I had been given, but lately I had begun to feel empty and I couldn’t understand why.
The boys were off in their own little worlds as well; Liam was texting Danielle, Louis was attempting to take a nap, Zayn was studying his already perfect reflection in the mirror, and Niall was snacking on some Nandos and checking twitter.
I debated on whether or not to tell one of them how I was feeling to see if they could help me, but decided against it. I knew I could tell the boys anything, they were like my brothers, but I wanted a different kind of connection, one they couldn’t give to me.
I was trying to decide on whether or not to call my mum when the door opened and in burst Carmen.
The boys all stopped performing their separate actions and gathered in the center of the room, where she was standing.
I pulled out my own headphones and turned to look up at her when I was distracted by the sight of pretty young girl.
Pretty was a bit of an understatement.
She had caramel colored hair that floated down in loose curls to a little bit above her elbows. She was tall, maybe a bit shorter than me, and her body was obviously toned, not that I was staring. She had freckles all over her body but she wasn’t too tan. She had a thin face with icy blue eyes framed by dark lashes.
She was absolutely stunning and for the first time in a long time I had absolutely no idea what to say.
Luckily Carmen was talking enough for everyone in the room.
“Okay boys, this week on the agenda you have the concert in Dublin tomorrow so I expect you at the airport by nine in the morning tomorrow. Then on Thursday you have an interview with Alan Carr and on Friday and Saturday you’re doing the Vanity Fair interview and photo-shoot. I expect you boys to be on your best behavior for that, do you understand? Vanity Fair is a huge deal, it may be the biggest magazine in the entire world so please, for me, be on you’re A-game. Then you have Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off, and on Wednesday we fly to New York to do some press there. That will involve a signing and a radio interview with Elvis Duran from Z100, remember him, as well as some other things we’ll talk about later in the week. Then on Saturday we’ll fly back here and you’ll be expected back here on Sunday to work on the new album and get briefed for that week. Any questions?” she huffed out when she had finished her rant.
Niall’s hand shot up in the air enthusiastically and Carmen rolled her eyes before pointing at him expectantly.
“When we stop in Dublin do you think I could take a quick trip down to Mullingar? It would only be for a couple of hours and I promise I would be really discreet.”
Carmen sighed, “Nothing you ever do is discreet Niall.”
“This would be! Please Carmen, it would put me in such a good mood and you know how long it’s been since I’ve seen my mates!” Niall was practically on his knees at this point, sticking his lower lip out in an attempt to be cute.
Carmen hesitated before slowly nodding.
“Fine I’ll let you go down for an hour, but that is it. Do you hear me Niall Horan? One hour. You’re to take a security guard down with you and you’re not to go anywhere but your house, let people come to you.”
