I didn't know where I was heading nor did I care at this point. All I could do was run hoping that I didn't trip on something. A large canine was at my tail, I wasn't sure if it was just a rabid dog or something worse All I knew is that I had to find a way out of the woods and onto the road and hope there was someone to help.
I had no idea how long I had been running. My red hair bounving around and even hitting me in the fave at times. It wasn't long before the point where my legs finally gave out. I fell only to meet the crushed leaves on the ground knocking the wind out of me. My legs ached and my chest felt like my lungs were about to give out as well. It made just breathing hurt so much.
I quickly scooted over behind a large oak tree trying to calm my breathing. After a few moments I held my breath at the sound of something moving. Glancing around the trunk of the oak I saw it. A wolf, one of the largest I'd ever seen. Its fur a dark brown and slightly matted. The eyes were of a golden tint. It had its nose to the ground trying to pick up a trail, my scent if I had to guess.
Suddenly it rose its head and I jerked back around, but it was too late. It'd spotted me. I tried standing, but my legs just weren't ready. Looking ahead I sighed. There it was staring at me those glowing eyes seeing me as nothing more then prey.
I knew I was going to die, I might as well accept it. I sat there my back against the tree as I watched the wolf slowly approach me. Its canines showing ready to tear.
I closed my eyes as I could feel it breathing on me. Before I could react anymore I heared a sudden yelp followed by a thump. My eyes opened to see another wolf pinning the other down. This one a more of a dirty white or blonde in color. They snarled as they snapped their jaws trying to grab each other's throat.
I didn't know what to do, I couldn't move nor could I fight. Watching the two fighting I noticed the blonde one hand a band around its right leg. Was it domesticated? Should I try and stop the fight incase it was to get injured or worse?
I slowly rose to stand even though the pain was almost unbearable. Reaching I grabed a large stick from the ground and held it like a sword. I had no idea how to even use a sword so how would a stick help?
Moving in I waiting until the blonde had the other pinned again. Standing behind him I swung the branch. I did indeed hit the bad wolf but in the process I startled the good wolf. He turned and within an instant lunged at me his teeth meeting the flesh of my forearm. His teeth bit just enough to draw blood then grazed downwards. Then suddenly he realeased to oddly back away lowering his head almost like he was sorry.
I fell back, wincing in pain as I held the bleeding arm against my chest. It had been my left thankfully at least but what did that matter. The dark wolf had vanished leaving me with the other or so I thought.
He'd vanished as well leaving me sitting here alone as prey to anything that came by.
I tried staying calm, though I was more difficult then I thought. The bite started burning, why?
Before I could scream from the pain I felt a sudden force to the back of my head. Everything faded to black as my body fell sideways to hit the ground.
